Hoseok and Yoongi were planning on going on their first official date today. Hoseok wanted to take Yoongi to his favourite restaurant in town. The two boys were sitting in the car in silence. As Yoongi drove, a possessive hand constantly rested on the younger boys thigh. As the vehicle came to a red light the silence only grew, it was too quiet.

"Yoongi, can we listen to some music. It's so quiet." Hoseok whined. The two had only been in his car for two minutes and the younger was already complaining.

"The radio is broken so you'll have to use the CD player or something." Yoongi explained, he was too preoccupied with driving to figure out the music situation. As the older took the wheel Hoseok looked around the car for any sign or CDs finally he found one. It was a blank disc with the words Demo1 written on it in sharpie. Without any other choice Hobi turned on the sound system and music started playing. Loud base sent vibrations through the car and finally a piano began playing. Before anyone could start singing or rapping Yoongi turned off the song.

"Why'd you do that?" Hobi asked pressing play again. Before the song could even begin Yoongi cut it off.

"Listen to anything else." Yoongi said, his voice was firm. This wasn't a suggestion, this was an order.

"But I wanna hear this." Hoseok continued hitting the play button again. Once again Yoongi cut the song off before the lyrics could start.

"What's the big deal? Why can't we just listen to this song?" Hoseok asked. This time he didn't try to play it again. This discussion was no longer about the song, Hobi wanted to know what the big deal was.

"It's not a big deal I just don't wanna listen to it." Yoongi said unconvincingly. Unlike Hoseok he was a horrible actor.

"Ha, nice try! What's up with the song?" Hoseok asked, his tone final. Yoongi would be lying if he said he wasn't a little bit scared to answer. Hoseok was scary when he was annoyed.

"I just... I wrote it about you while I was living with my dad. And it's a little bit... much." Yoongi confessed in a small voice. Hoseok was the only one who could ever get Yoongi to speak like that. Hobi was the only other person who knew every side of Yoongi, well almost every side. The vulnerability in Yoongi's voice caused Hoseok to smile.

"Well now I need to hear it." Hoseok said with a smile, pressing the play button for the final time. This time the song wasn't cut off. As the lyrics came blaring out of the speakers Yoongi paid close attention to the road, avoiding eye contact with Hoseok.

I remember the days when I was taller than you.
The days we didn't realize quickly turned to nights.
The warmth of your arms when everything got too loud to sleep.

Yoongi couldn't help but cringe as his song played through the car. He had written it a good 2 years ago. If he had been alone this wouldn't be as painful to listen to, but now someone was actually listening to the song. Not just anyone, the person the song was written about. Hobi on the other hand couldn't stop smiling as the song played. It was the perfect blend of nostalgia and feeling. The instrumentation just made everything 10 times better. As the song continued there was a sudden turn, the lyrics became darker, the music much more intense.

But happiness had an end and I moved too far from the sun.
The world that was once bright suddenly lost all light.
Love was just a distant memory now life is survival.

The younger gave a confused look to Yoongi at the sudden change, the older just looked at the road. Hoseok sat back in the passenger seat, intently listening to the song. There was nothing but hurt and pain in Yoongi's voice. Hobi could almost feel tears building up in his eyes. The younger never cried while listening to music, but this, this was something different. The beat, the rapping, everything was just becoming too much.

My stupidity got the best of me, my light covered by my hand.
Too afraid to face my hope.
Forced to wear a mask, forced to act okay.
But I'm not fucking okay.
Not since the days in park down the street.

As the song slowly ended Hoseok kept listening intently. As the instrumental faded into the background the song ended with Yoongi's heavy breathing. Finally the heavy breathing cut off and the two were in silence. Another song began to play but Hoseok quickly shut it off.

"Do you understand why I didn't want to listen to it?" Yoongi asked, still not having looked at his boyfriend. Hoseok just shook his head. The tears in his eyes had finally fallen. Yoongi didn't look towards the younger until his sobs became audible. Yoongi quickly drove into the parking lot of the restaurant the two were planning on eating at. Yoongi put the car in park before attending to his upset boyfriend.

"Hey, I didn't mean to sound like an ass." Yoongi said. He thought that he had done something wrong, that however was not the case. Hoseok didn't know why but that song, something just struck a chord in him. He couldn't stop crying.

"I-it's not-t you... there's just-t s-something about that-t song. And-d all the th-things happening today." Hoseok explained in between his sobs. Yoongi leaned over and opened the glove box, pulling out some napkins for Hoseok. The younger quickly grabbed one blowing his nose. The two just sat together for a little while, allowing Hobi to calm down.

"We can talk while we eat, then you can tell me everything." Yoongi said quietly, gently brushing the tears off Hoseok's cheeks. The older leaned over and placed a kiss on his boyfriend's forehead.  After a few minutes his breathing slowed and eyes dried.

"We can go in now." Hoseok said quietly. The older quickly opened his door, getting out to meet Hobi on the other side. As they walked together towards the entrance of the restaurant Yoongi's hand slowly found its way to Hobi's hand. Their fingers intertwining, fitting perfectly together, like they were made for each other.  This moment, amongst others,  caused their friendly love to bloom into something more.
