Summer gained momentum, after dealing with his major issues Yoongi felt the summer move quicker. Yoongi spent a lot of his time with Jeremy this summer, usually they were out in the park. Yoongi's other friends would sometimes come to join and Jeremy became acquainted with them. When they weren't with others Yoongi or Jeremy would sneak a kiss in or cuddle. Yoongi liked the affection but at the same time felt like he was constantly hiding. He was only ever really himself around Hoseok.Hobi was around Yoongi a lot but the older couldn't help but notice something was off. When he reached in to touch him, Hoseok would become uncomfortable and go away. He knew it wasn't because of the whole gay thing, Yoongi couldn't really figure it out.
As the summer started coming to a close Jeremy and Yoongi were practically inseparable. They were together all day either in the park or their houses. Yoongi would leave late at night to go back home and show up early the next morning. The two never went on dates, they never officially confirmed the boyfriends status either but they kissed and cuddled frequently.
Before the summer was over Yoongi wanted to go on a date with Jeremy, he wanted to experience something normal couples do but had no idea how. They couldn't go to a restaurant, or to the movie theatre. Yoongi didn't know what other dates you could have. Luckily Jeremy seemed to have a better idea.
.......One week before school started Yoongi heard a light tapping on his window in the middle of the night. Unsure of what was happening he opened the window and looked around. Jeremy stood there with a blanket and basket he waved at Yoongi to come down. Usually Yoongi would threaten to kill whoever woke him up but he couldn't help but smile at Jeremy. Yoongi quickly changed into clothes and snuck downstairs, making sure not to wake his sleeping mother. He silently put shoes on then opened the front door quietly. He left it ajar so he would be able to get back in quickly and quietly. When he got outside Jeremy met him at the end of the driveway and they walked to the park.
"What's all this?" Yoongi asked intrigued by the objects in Jeremy's hands.
"I wanted to have a date... so I set up a midnight picnic." Jeremy explained with a cheesy smile on his face. He was obviously proud of himself for the thought and eagerly waited for Yoongi's reaction.
"That sounds amazing." Yoongi responded in amazement. It was as if Jeremy had completely read his mind. Jeremy began setting up, he laid out the blanket, pulled out a candle and lighter from the picnic basket and finally took out a bottle of wine and some cookies.
"I stole it from my moms wine cabinet." Jeremy explained as Yoongi examined the bottle. He had never drank wine before but his mother drank it a lot. Jeremy pulled out two plastic wine cups from the basket and poured some of the red juice into it. Yoongi took one glass and took a sip. He didn't know what he was expecting wine to taste like but it wasn't this. The liquid burned his throat and left a bitter taste in his mouth. From Jeremy's reaction to the wine he didn't seem to like it other.
"It was worth a try." Jeremy joked. Yoongi smile and pulled him in for a kiss. It tasted like wine between the two of them and Yoongi giggled while kissing him but it was still nice. When they finished Yoongi took one of the cookies.
"At least these taste good." Yoongi laughed. Jeremy just smiled, even though it was dark out Yoongi could tell. He let out a sigh and laid on his back looking at the stars. He felt Jeremy lay down beside him but didn't look over, he was too interested in the sky.
"Do you believe in aliens?" Yoongi asked the older.
"No, I think we would've found them by now."
"Really... I do. The earth can't have the only life, we can't be the only ones." Yoongi explained. As the conversation continued they slowly began talking about more current topics. Parents came up and Yoongi didn't say much, Jeremy went on a bit of a rant about their strict nature. Yoongi couldn't help but feel a little bit upset, at least his parents still loved each other. He was having a really difficult time dealing with his parents divorce. He hated being alone with his mom because she was always so controlling and worried. He hated being around his father because every time they were together, his homophobia and toxic masculinity would show. When Jeremy's rant slowly came to an end he sensed a question brewing in the older. Then finally he asked.
"Do you think your parents would care if you were gay?" Yoongi slowly thought about the words said, then looked over to Jeremy.
"My mom probably wouldn't. I don't care if my dad does or not." Yoongi answered although it wasn't completely true, he cared very much about what his father thought. Jeremy looked over at Yoongi and smiled.
"Do you think your friends would care?" Jeremy asked. Yoongi couldn't help but kissing his lips, regardless of the question. He just looked so kissable in that moment. When the two separated Jeremy asked again and Yoongi just shrugged.
"I've already told one friend and he's okay with it. Why wouldn't my other frie-" Yoongi was cut off when Jeremy bolted upright and looked at the younger.
"Your friend doesn't know about me right?" Jeremy asked in a state of panic.
"Actually he does." Yoongi said, sitting up as well. Jeremy didn't look to Yoongi at all, he didn't speak either. Jeremy was a difficult person to read but this was impossible. His face was completely blank, his eyes almost looked glazed over. Yoongi tried to make eye contact but couldn't.
"How could you?" Jeremy finally asked after what seemed like forever.
"How could I wh-"
"How could you tell someone about me, I trusted you and you just... I can't do this anymore. Don't come to my house anymore, I won't go to the park anymore. I'm too old for it anyways. Get off my blanket and go home." Jeremy snapped he was being very hostile.
"Don't worry Hobi won't tell." Yoongi tried to defend but he couldn't Jeremy just walked over to him and pushed him off the blanket.
"You don't know that, now just fuck off and leave me alone." Jeremy spat at Yoongi. The younger was scared and followed Jeremy's orders with tear stained cheeks. He looked back at the older only to see that he was slumped on the ground crying. Yoongi couldn't do anything though, he just looked forward again and slowly walked into the house. The door he left ajar was now wide open and his mother sat waiting for him on the couch. She had planned on scolding him for sneaking out but when she saw his face her heart broke. She opened her arms to hug him but Yoongi didn't want to explain what happened to his mom. He dodged the hug and just went to his room. He couldn't help but feel betrayed, Yoongi knew Hoseok would never say anything but Jeremy didn't know that. He continued crying softly to himself until sleep swiftly pulled him under, drowning him in his dark mind.
