Two birds on a wire
One tries to fly away
And the other watches him close from that wire
He says he wants to as well
But he is a liar

You and Oswald used to be so close. The two of you grew up together in the small town you called home.

One day he had gotten into a fight with his brother and threatened to leave. Ozzy looked at you that night and asked you to go with him.

To that rabbit, you were the most important person in his life. You hesitantly told him that you wanted to go, but in reality you were scared.

I'll believe it all
There's nothing I won't understand

Oswald smiled happily at you, hearing your answer. He quickly went to his room and packed his bags.

You stood there staring at Mickey sympathetically. He didn't deserve this, but this is what he gets for pushing his brother so hard.

I'll believe it all
I won't let go of your hand

Ozzy came back. Taking your hand, he walked with you to your house. Upon entering, you went to your room and slowly packed your bags.

The more you packed, the more you had second thoughts.

"Are you ready to go dear?" Ozzy asked nuzzling your neck.

"I don't know, Oz. It's awfully late. How about we get a good night's sleep and head out in the morning" you half heartedly suggested.

"Alright that sounds fair. We can even make a plan as to where we go!" He chirped, accepting the offer.

Two birds on a wire
One says c'mon and the other says "I'm tired"

Morning rose with a happy rabbit bouncing about.

"C'mon (y/n)! Let's go, I got bus tickets to the next town over!"

You froze, still as death. Your heart seemed to stop and your breath was stale in your throat. You were petrified. Was this really happening.

Sure both you and Oswald had it rough back at home, but was leaving really necessary? Leaving your home overnight was one thing, but leaving and never turning back, that was terrifying to even think about.

"Ozzy I don't know about this anymore. Are you sure you want to do this?" You asked shakily.

The sky is overcast and I'm sorry
One more or one less
Nobody's worried

"What's wrong, (y/n)? I thought we were in this together" he looked at you almost hurt.

"I'm sorry. It's just that......" you trailed, feeling ashamed.

"It's just what?"

You looked up at him, tears scaling down your cheeks.

I'll believe it all
There's nothing I won't understand

He took your hand, brushing the tears away.

"I'm scared Ozzy. I've never done anything like this before. This is the only home I've ever known"

I'll believe it all
I won't let go of your hand

Oswald hugged you, rubbing your back.

"Listen, I know your scared. Believe me, I am too. Just remember, you're not alone. I'll be here every step of the way"

He let go and took your hand, continuing to the station.

Two birds of a feather
Say that they're always gonna stay together
But one's never going to let go of that wire

The further from home you got, the more anxious you became. So many things could go wrong. You wanted to go back, but not without him.

Ozzy knew deep down, just how you were feeling. He too, was starting to doubt his own moral compass.

He says that he will
But he's just a liar

"Hey are you okay? You look like you're going to be sick" he asked you.

You peered up, face ash white and skin clammy. A pitiful smile twitching the corners of your mouth.

"Yeah I'm alright. I'll get over it, you'll see"

You were lying and he knew it.

You passed out on the bus. You had broke into a cold sweat. You were shivering, clammy, ghost white in the face. You needed to go home.

Oswald was now scared. He wasn't prepared for something like this. He paid the driver what money he had left, to take the two of you back to the other station.

Mickey sat outside the station grieving all day. He didn't realize that Oswald was serious about leaving. Just as he was walking away from the platform, his cellphone rang.

"Hello?" He answered sniffling slightly.

"Mickey, it's me. I'm sorry for running away, but I need help" it was Ozzy.

"I forgive you, what do you need? Are you hurt?"

"No, I'm alright. (Y/n) on the other hand, I think she's sick. She's cold, clammy, and pale. I'm almost at the bus station"

"Oh my! I'll be right here on the platform waiting. We need to get her home and soon!"

"But her folks are away on business, we can't leave her alone"

"Then she'll just have to come home with us"

Two birds on a wire
One tries to fly away and the other

You woke up to the soft sunlight seeping through the thin blue curtains. You laid in a bed, covered by a warm blue duvet.
Although you were still groggy, you surveyed the area.

The walls were a grayish blue color. A desk sat in the corner with a computer. Pictures and posters lined the walls in a scattered patchy pattern.

You couldn't seem to focus on the pictures very well with your vision being a bit blurry.

Out of the corner of your eye, you spotted a picture frame on the nightstand. You picked it up and immediately knew where you were.

It was a single photo of you and Ozzy singing in the school talent show last year.

There was a knock on the door before it slowly opened. Oswald walked in with a tray of food and sat it down on the table.

He stood at the edge of the bed. Before he could open his mouth to speak, you had practically thrown yourself into his arms hugging him as you cried.

"I don't need to leave anymore, not when all I need is here at home" he whispered.
