He and his brother Cuphead were adopted by this rich Casino manager named Black Hat.

Mugs looked out the window and sighed.
He knew that he should be happy right now, but he was too busy grieving the loss of his friend.
He could remember the day You had met him and Cup.
The day you slipped away
Was the day I found it won't be the same
Now the both of you sadly watched each other disappear from sight as the distance grew.
You two grew distant from the ones that cared about you.

Cup, although he was his only true family, was dead to him.
