Chapter 13

Elaine's POV

I stood there with my eyes wide, I kept looking at him until he walked to me, his eyes were pinkish, it's like he never slept, he held the bar and leaned his face.

"I'll leave you two alone." Officer Watson said,

Officer Watson walked away from us and disappeared.

"Who are you?" Dave asked,

"You don't know me, but once I tell you, you'll freak out." I responded,

"Just tell me."

"I'm your daughter, the one you always beated up."

"Kate?"

"Not anymore, I'm Elaine now."

"You got yourself a new name now huh?"

"I guess you still haven't changed."

"Look Kate, I don't remember anything, and all I know is Amelia being murdered by Jane, and you stayed home."

"Of course I did, I never knew what to do that time."

"I don't even know why you're a grown up already, and people think that I kidnapped the Higgins."

"You've kidnapped?"

"No, I didn't."

"Then why would they say that?"

"I don't know, I just woke up to find myself being arrested by police, and they tell me that I kidnapped two girls."

"I'll talk to them about that."

"No, you don't know anything."

"Oh yes I do, you don't even know why they arrested you and where I have been these past few years."

"I know why they arrested me and I just told you and do you think I care where you have been?"

"They arrested you for a reason that you don't even believe and I don't expect you to care where I have been, my point is that you are the one who doesn't know anything."

"Oh please, I can't stand looking at you."

"Then okay, I'll just have to erase your memory, don't you think?"

I started to round up my hands and the light colour of green starts to show up, until Officer Watson came, I immediately hid my hand and faced him.

"You have a visitor." Officer Watson said,

I nodded and stared at Dave once more, I started to walk down the hallway and followed where Officer Watson led me, he led me to a white room where there is a woman sitting there.

"I'll leave you two." Officer Watson said,

Officer Watson went out the room and I walked to the chair.

"Hello, what's your name?" The woman asked,

"Elaine, you?" I responded,

"I am Jane L. Higgins, and Charlie told me that you're Dave's daughter? Is that right?"

"Yes I am, and who's Charlie?"

"The officer that led you here."

"Oh, him."

"So, tell me, do you feel bad that your father is in jail?"

"No, not at all."

"Why not?"

"He has tortured me when I was twelve, since my mother was murdered, he became somehow mad and took it all out on me."

"Why would he hate you?"

"I don't know but I do remember one time I overheard them saying they didn't want me, because I was..."

"What?"

"Nothing."

"You can tell me, I promise not to tell anyone."

"It's not that, it's only because if I tell you, you will too might be weirded."

"I won't."

"I wasn't normal."

"Like what?"

"I have paranormal abilities, and they thought I was dangerous."

"You must feel miserable right?"

"Yeah."

"That's why you hate them, but where do you live now?"

I didn't answer the question, It was kinda hard to tell her, then she smiled.

"You don't have to answer that, I know it's hard." Jane said,

"Thanks." I said,

"The reason why I called you here it's because, I have to tell you something."

"What?"

"Me and Dave are kinda enemies, it's because I was the one who killed her."

"What? Why would you do that?"

"It was just an accident, I didn't want to but I just stabbed her accidentally."

"You didn't wanna do it right?"

"No, I never knew her anyway."

"So, I guess it's all clear now."

"Yeah."

Jane stood and extended her arm.

"It was nice meeting you Elaine." Jane said,

"Me too." I said,

We both left the room, I continued walking to the car and drove, I drove until I passed a house, I saw that a man was dragged by a man outside into the car, I pulled up and approached the man.

"Umm... what's happening?" I asked,

"Why are you here?" The man said,

"I was just asking."

"He was drunk and fell asleep, I was gonna take him home."

I nodded and went back to the car, I drove back to the Hotel and knocked on the room, I knocked again and no one was responding, I knocked again and I finally gave up, I went to the counterlady, hoping for a duplicate key for the room, she knew me since she saw me, so she gave me a duplicate key and I took it, I opened the room to find that it was empty, I checked the bedroom and there wasn't any sign of Jenny, I went to the bedroom and closed my eyes, I tried to predict the future and to where Jenny was.

But I failed.
