Chapter 22

'How could she know?', 'Did someone told her?', 'I hope she's not mad', I thought to myself. I stared directly to her eyes and confessed.

"Yes. Yes I am." I said in a low tone.

Jenny sighed.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Jenny asked.

"Because I thought you'll hate me and your dad is a scientist." I responded.

"Why would I hate you? And what if my dad is a scientist?"

"You might hate me because I'm not normal and might tell your dad."

"So? What if I tell my dad?"

"I have a mission here, Jenny." I said, "I can't be experimented by your dad."

"What's your mission?"

"My mission is to save my sisters."

"Who? Who are your sisters?"

"I can't tell you each of them but I really need to save them."

"So, that's why you're here? In land?"

I nodded. Jenny crossed her arms and sighed.

"I wanna help you, but I don't know where to start." Jenny said.

"That's okay." I said.

"I think we should head back to the table, already."

I nodded. We went out the restroom and headed towards the table. I stopped walking as I saw the table.

"What is it?" Jenny asked.

"Emily's missing." I said.

"What?"

Jenny walked towards the table and started searching the whole restaurant that people became curious. I also helped her find Emily, 'Where would Emily be?', Emily still doesn't know this place, there's no way she could be that far. I went back to the table and saw Jenny there too.

"Have you seen her?" I asked.

"No." Jenny responded.

"She doesn't really know this place. It's impossible for her to be that far."

"Well, she's a mermaid, right?" Jenny whispered.

"Yeah."

"Well, I heard they would just walk everywhere without even knowing where to go."

"That's kinda true, but she found us, I'm sure she's just going to be with us since she doesn't know this place."

"That's also a possibility."

Then Jenny's phone rang. She took it from her pocket and checked who was calling her. Then she looked at me and answered the call.

"Dad?" She called out.

I heard a voice spoke in the call but it was inaudible for me.

"Why?" Jenny asked her dad.

Then Jenny's eyes widened a bit.

"Okay, I'll be there."

Jenny ended the call and stood.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"Dad's lab." Jenny responded.

I didn't spoke and just nodded.

"Is it okay if you come?" Jenny asked.

"Uhh..." I drawled out, "Sure."

"Really?"

"Yeah, it's okay."

Jenny smiled and I stood. We walked to the car but Jenny stopped as she was about to open the door.

"What about Emily?" Jenny asked.

"Oh yeah. I forgot." I responded.

"Let's come back here after we go to dad's lab."

I nodded and hopped in the car. Jenny hopped in too and started driving. We arrived at the white building so I went out the car and closed it behind me. Jenny and I walked towards the door and knocked. Then Jenny's dad opened the door.

"Oh, you brought Elaine with you." He said.

"Can we come in?" Jenny asked.

"Sure. Sure."

He opened the door and let us both in. As he was closing the door, I immediately hid my necklace under my clothes. He then faced Jenny and both led us to a room. I went in the room full of cages. I looked at my right to find a boy wearing something bluish. The rest of the cages were empty so I just walked straight to where Jenny's dad were taking us.

I went in another room after Jenny and her dad and my eyes widened. I stared at Jenny whose eyes were wide also.

"Why are the girls tied up?" Jenny asked.

"And bloody." I continued.

"They had to be experimented so I had to make them sleep." Jenny's dad responded.

"But why beat them up?" Jenny asked.

"I didn't want to, but they insisted."

"Why would they?"

"I don't know."

I stared at the five girls who were beaten and tied up in a chair. I couldn't see their faces though, because their heads were leaning and was covered by their long hair. I started walking towards them but Jenny's dad stopped me.

"Please don't touch them, I don't wanna wake them up this time." He said.

I smiled kindly to him and nodded. He then led us to a room where there was a bed in the middle of the room. Me and Jenny walked towards the bed and checked who was lying on it. The body was covered with a blanket so we uncovered it. I took a look at the face and my eyes widened. And I thought.

"Emily?"
