Chapter 8

Jenny's POV

I came to the market, I bought food and drinks, I finally bought them and left the market, I went to my car and drove away, I still have one more place to go, my father told me to meet him at his lab, I drove there, I arrived and went out the car, I went in and saw that he was turning his back on me, he was reading a file, I then interrupted him by calling him.

"Dad?" I called out,

He turned around and smiled.

"Jenny, where have you been?" He asked,

"What do you mean?" I asked,

"Mike is looking for you, because you left the house."

"Dad, I wanna have some time for myself, I can't be around Mike for a week, please don't text him nor call him."

"Sorry Jenny, but I already did before I texted you."

"Dad!"

"Sorry."

"I'm leaving."

"No, I'll stop him from coming."

"You can't, don't expect him to not come."

"Then, I'll see you tomorrow, and I won't tell him."

"You better not."

I left the lab and ran to my car, I vastly drove back to my hotel, I looked around and found no signs of Mike's car, I went out the car and went in the hotel, I walked fast and the counterlady called me.

"Miss. Corman?" She called out,

"Yes?" I asked,

"Your brother was looking for you earlier."

"Whatever, but if he comes back, just tell him I'm at Burgos Town Park."

"Okay."

I went in the elevator, I stepped out as I reached the sixth floor, I went back to find Elaine sitting at the couch quietly.

"What happened? Your eyes are pink." I asked,

"Your brother came anyway." She responded blankly,

"What?"

"He pushed me, and went out as he knew you weren't here."

"I'm sorry Elaine, if he bothered you."

Then suddenly Elaine burst out crying, she wept the tears before it drip to the floor, I approached her and tried to comfort her, I think Mike did something bad to her, I hope it wasn't what I was thinking, I would kill Mike if he did, and once again, I felt my heart connect to hers, I felt her pain and started tearing up also, she then stopped and I also did, I also realized that there was something in her pocket, but I didn't bother, I gave her a drink that I just bought earlier.

"Did my brother do something?" I asked,

She looked at me and ignored me, then a voice came to my mind.

"I hope she doesn't know, I feel her heart connect to mine, just like the girl I met."

I became confused and stood, I called my father, it took him a seconds to answer.

"What is it Jenny?" He asked,

"I just-" I was interrupted,

I heard Mike's voice from the background.

"Is that Jenny?" Mike asked,

"Umm... yeah." My father responded,

"Let me talk to her."

"Jenny? Where are you? I'm worried about you, please come home." Mike said,

I couldn't stand hearing his voice, so I just ended the call, I threw my phone at the couch and Elaine took it.

"If my brother calls, answer it and end it right away, his name is Mike." I said,

Elaine nodded, I went to my bedroom, I lay there and rested for a while. I woke up to find myself in a dark room, It was low on air but I still managed to breath, I took a step and the room started to tear up to pieces, everything broke and as they fall down, I saw myself deep in the ocean, I could still breath, but I saw something beside me, it was dark to see but once it got closer, I saw that it was a mermaid, I could see her ocean blue eyes.

I suddenly woke up by Elaine, she was right infront of me, but what weirded me the most was because her eyes were ocean blue also, I sat and I felt dizzy.

"What is it?" I asked,

"Your brother texted, and he said that he's coming here." Elaine responded,

"What? Let's leave."

Elaine went to the living room, I did also and we were about to reach the door, until someone knocked on the door, and suddenly someone spoke.

"Jenny, it's me Mike."
