We could hear the siren from the distance. I was the last one to jump out of the boat. Josh tied the rope so the boat won't float away. He wore his shirt and jacket again and we all walked side by side towards our car.
We didn't go in our car but waited for the sirens. When the ambulance arrived with a police car. I led them to my father's body who was on the sand. They took his body and layed it down to a bed.
The police then approached us.
"I'm Officer Watson, who among of you is his children?" He asked.
I raised my hand and Mike did too.
"Okay, would you like to go to the hospital with your father in the ambulance?" He asked.
"Sure." Me and Mike responded.
"What about us?" Josh asked.
"We're gonna have to ask you some questions, so you're gonna have to go to the Police Station." The police responded.
"What about our cars?"
"You can use them since there are three of you so just follow our car."
"Okay."
"Jamie, you can take mine." I said.
"You can take mine, Fred." Mike said.
"And I'm gonna take mine." Josh said.
We all laughed slightly and Me and Mike went in the ambulance. We made our way towards the City Hospital.
Later, Me and Mike were just sitting on a chair outside our father's room in the Hospital. A male nurse came out and told us about my father's condition.
"He seemed fine, it looks like he only fainted. No broken bones, no heart attacks, everything's okay with him." He said.
"Are you sure? What about his neck?" I asked.
"Like I said, no broken bones and his neck is perfectly fine."
I smiled and nodded. The nurse made his way somewhere and we were now able to go in the room. We walked towards his bed and sat beside him. A tear escaped from my eyes. I immediately wept them away.
"I hope he doesn't become what he was again." I said.
"I hope too." Mike said.
We both hugged.
"Jenny, I'm really sorry if I wasn't the big brother you needed. I wasn't there for you but now I will be." He said, a tear rolling down his cheek.
"Yeah, okay then." I said.
We smiled and parted away. I stared at my father and held his hand.
"Thank you for not leaving us even though mom had to." I said.
"And for actually caring for us when we were kids." Mike continued.
