Chapter 31

I woke up, lying on the couch and the light was turned on. I turned to my left and saw Jenny sitting beside me. She noticed me and she immediately faced me.

"Elaine? You okay?" She asked.

I blocked the light with my hand and nodded. She smiled and went to the Kitchen. Mike also came up to me and sat beside me.

"How are you feeling?" He asked.

"Fine, why ask?" I asked.

"Can't I?"

"I still think about what you said earlier. You do know that was very hurtful to me."

"I know, those words just came out."

I looked away from him.

"I just wanted to know if you were okay." He said, before he left.

I turned back and found that he walked away already to the bedroom. I sighed and closed my eyes. Jenny came back from the kitchen and handed me a glass of water. I drank a little and gave it back to Jenny.

She took it and went back to the kitchen. I didn't know that Josh was walking to me, until he called me.

"Elaine." He said.

"Yes?" I asked.

"We need to tell you something."

"What?"

"It's about Emily."

My guts tell me that she was in trouble, that's why my eyes widened.

"What happened to her?" I asked.

"Let's just give her the message." Jenny said from the kitchen.

"C'mon, follow me." Josh said.

I stood up and followed Josh to the kitchen. Jenny gave Josh a phone and Josh started tapping and swiping on it. He then showed me the screen.

"If you want Emily alive. Come to Molisa Beach." The text read.

Josh took away the phone and closed it.

"Who's that from?" I asked.

"Jenny's Dad." He responded.

"So, you're telling me that he striked at midnight?"

"Yeah, at 1am sharp."

"Wait, it's still 1am?"

"Yeah, 1:20."

"But earlier..."

I stopped and remembered that someone tackled me which made me fainted.

"If you're thinking that someone tackled you, I think it was us boys." Josh said.

I looked at him curiously.

"We heard a scream so we all woke up and find out what's happening." He explained, "Then we heard someone came out the bedroom so we thought you were a thief or something. So we tackled you."

"What?" I asked.

"Yeah, sorry." He responded.

"But... who screamed?"

"I already told you. I think it was Emily."

"Wait what?!"

"You sure are forgetful one."

"Sorry, but what are we gonna do?"

"We're still planning."

"Okay."
