Chapter 26

Elaine's POV

I woke up and my visions were still blurry. I was in a room but when I focused more, I realized that I was in a cage. I wanted to sit but I was too weak. So instead, I groaned.

"Elaine?" Someone called out.

I tried to turn my head to look at where the voice came from. The voice came from my left which I saw a girl. My visions started to sharpen and realized it was Jenny.

"Jenny?" I called out.

She smiled and nodded. My eyes were slowly closing but I keep opening them. Jenny held the bar that connected our cage. She kept looking at me concernly. Maybe she wants me to get up already.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

I nodded slowly. My head still hurt because Jenny's dad threw me carelessly in the cage. I tried to give up all my strength to get up, though I fell again.

"You don't have to stand." Jenny said.

I looked at her and crawled to the left corner of the cage.

"You okay?" Jenny asked.

I hesitated. I couldn't respond to her question so she didn't wait for an answer.

"No, right?" She asked.

I stared at her and nodded slowly. I looked away again and scanned the room.

"Why are we here?" I asked.

"Because dad locked us here." Jenny responded.

"Can we get out?"

"I don't know, actually."

I stared at Jenny who was digging in her pocket. She was trying to get something, and she finally did. She raised the thing that she's been digging for. Her phone.

"I'll call Mike." She said.

She dialed on her phone and placed the phone on her ear. She waited and kept moving around.

"He's still not answering." Jenny said.

Then there was a ringtone that rang just outside the room. Then the left door opened. A man came in and held the phone which has Jenny's name written in it and it was ringing.

"Your brother, he left his phone in here when he came earlier." He said.

"C'mon Josh. Why are you here anyway?" Jenny asked.

"Your dad called me. He said he'll pay me money if I do my job."

"What job?"

"You already know." He smirked.

He then left to the left door and closed it. He came back in again and stood infront of Jenny's cage.

"I forgot that I must have your phone." He said as he handed out his hand.

"No way." Jenny said.

"Give it to me. Or I'm gonna have to do something bad."

"Like what?" Jenny said as she clutch the bars.

He took out a square thing that looked like a remote. He pressed a button which made Jenny unclutch the bars and made her jump high that she hit her head. Jenny then lay weak on the floor.

"Now, give me your phone." Josh demanded.

"No." Jenny said weakly.

Josh sighed and pressed the button again. Jenny shook from the floor and jumped a little.

"Stop it!" Me and the boy from the cage yelled together.

"You guys want some of this, too?" Josh asked, "Okay then."

He pressed a different button which the boy from the cage suddenly shook and jumped. Josh turned to me and clicked a different button. I was sitting on the floor until I felt something like an electric. I shook and jumped because it hurt. I hit my head hard which I fell to the floor weak.

Everything felt like a vibrate. My head ached and my visions were starting to blur. I saw Josh standing there, digging through his pocket. He took out something and It shined.

It was a cutter.
