Chapter 16

Elaine's POV

I drove to Fred's house. We weren't that close since we just met earlier. But I was wondering if he could track Jenny. I arrived at his house to find him sitting at his front yard, completely immersed on his laptop. But once he noticed me, he greeted me with a smile and he waved his hand.

"Can I help you?" Fred asked.

"Well, you know how to track right?" I asked.

"Of course. Who do you want me to?"

"Jenny."

"Why? Isn't she at the hotel?"

"Well, yeah," I said, "but she left."

"Okay then."

I stared at him as he typed in his laptop. It took him five minutes to finally track her.

"She at the..." He drawled out, "Oh, she's at her dad's lab."

"Where is this lab?" I asked.

"You're gonna have to go to Molisa Beach. Do you know the sign about Burgos Town?"

"Yeah."

"You can see that there is an arrow pointing a direction," He started to explain, "Go to the opposite direction. Turn left and right. Keep going up ahead and you'll see a white building."

"Thank you."

I left his house and I drove to Molisa Beach. I searched for the sign and there I saw it. I head to the different direction where the arrow was pointing and went to the right and left.

I kept going until I saw a white building. I parked the car and stepped out. I walked to the door but it was closed so I knocked. No one responded so I knocked again. I kept knocking until I heard footsteps inside. I waited and the door opened, I saw that it was a man, I took a step back.

"Who are you?" He asked.

"Umm..." I drawled out, "Is Jenny here?"

"Yes, she's my daughter."

"Ah, sorry to interrupt. I just wanted to find her."

"What are you to her?"

"She's my friend."

He looked at me from head to heels.  He started smiling and insisted on letting me in.

"No thank you, I just wanted to check on Jenny." I said.

"Well, we're about to finish our discussion. Maybe you can wait." He said.

I nodded. I went in and sat and he went to a room. I didn't get to see what was inside so I just walked around to see two beds. It was comfy so I touched it with my hands. I then saw a box but I shouldn't touch anything since it's not my place so I went back to sitting and waited. To be honest, I felt bored. Suddenly the door opened.

"Elaine?" Jenny called out.

"Jenny." I said.

"Why are you here?"

"Sorry, I had to check on you."

"Come on Elaine. I'm fine. Thank you but you can wait at the Hotel. I'm fine."

I nodded.

"Can I have the keys to the room?" I asked.

"Of course." Jenny responded,

She handed me the keys, I went out the building, but before I could step outside the door, Jenny's father held my arm.

"Would you be okay if you come back tomorrow?" He asked,

"Depends on Jenny." I responded.

I walked out and went in the car. I waved Jenny goodbye and drove away. I first went to the bank. I showed them a pearl. They told me they would give me $30,000 for it. I agreed and they gave me money.

I went to the market and bought a drink and a snack. I now drove to the Hotel. I parked the car and went in the Hotel. I went to the elevator and pressed the floor where my room was. I opened the room and locked it when I got in. I sat on the couch because it's been a long day and I had to rest first.

Later, Jenny still haven't came back. I just made a meal since I became hungry again. I ate and I became full. Jenny still haven't came back so I just went to the counterlady and asked.

"Hey, can you do me a favor?"

"What is it?" She responded.

"When you see Jenny, could you give this key to her?"

"Jenny Corman?"

"I don't really know her last name but she does have a brother named Mike."

"Oh yes. She's Jenny Corman. Of course I'll give it to her."

"Thank you."

I went back to the room and I felt tired. So I locked the room and rested on the couch. I then slowly fell asleep.

I woke up in the middle of the night. I heard a bump from the kitchen so I slowly walked there. I switched the lights on and vastly ran to the kitchen. I felt awkward when I saw Jenny standing there.

"Sorry, did I wake you?" Jenny asked.

"Umm..." I drawled out, "No. I just thought someone else was here."

"Oh, I was just trying to find a food to eat."

"Umm..." I drawled out again, "Okay."

I went back to the couch and lay my head. I slowly fell asleep then.

I woke up in the morning to find myself in the bedroom. I lay straight on the bed and the blanket was tucked on me. My head felt dizzy but I still walked to the living room. My visions were blurry and I sat. I then decided to go to the kitchen. But as I went my way to there. I suddenly blacked out.
