I Am Different

Chapter 33

"What the heck?" Josh said.

"Where are the souls?" Jenny asked.

"It's not there." Hayden said.

"Then where is it?" Mike asked.

"I'm thinking Dad took it." Jenny responded.

"Yeah, I don't think he wants us to go back home yet." I said.

"Then, let's find Emily first. I'm thinking he's in there, guarding her." Josh said.

We all nodded and searched for the other rooms. We went to the room where there were computers that were shut down. Fred opened one of them and a camera footage showed. There were about six computers that showed six different rooms.

Fred turned them all on but neither of them all showed the footage of a room where Emily or Jenny's dad were. But in the fifth footage, we saw something that was really shocking. We saw two WolfDogs, walking around the hallway. They looked the same as Jenny's dad, but in the WolfDog body.

In the fourth computer showed the lobby but there was a WolfDog in there, strolling.

"It wasn't there before." Josh said.

"Well, I guess they're now." Jenny said, looking at the computer.

"They're scary. Maybe we need to avoid them." Hayden said.

"Thank you for that advice, Captain Obvious." Josh said.

"What's a captain?"

"Are you for real?"

"She's a mermaid, give her a break." Jenny said, looking at Josh.

"Okay, okay." Josh said, raising his hands that means surrender.

Jenny went back to the computer and started to bit her fingers.

"I don't have a plan in my mind." Jenny said.

"Then what are we supposed to do?" Mike asked.

"Fight them, I guess?"

"How?"

"You have your gun."

"I mean, what about the others?"

"Josh, Fred and You have a gun. Jamie has powers and so does Elaine and Hayden. I know a little bit of martial arts but I think that's enough to protect myself."

"You sure?"

"Yeah. Believe me."

Mike sighed.

"Okay. Just be careful." He said.

We went out the security room and kept looking behind our shoulders. We looked right to left before stepping out the room. Josh, Fred and Mike readied their guns while Hayden and I readied our powers.

"I don't think I can control my powers yet." I whispered to Hayden.

"Don't worry, you'll control them. But I will protect you if you don't develop your powers." Hayden whispered.

"What if you end up being hurt because of me?"

"I won't be. This was the reason why I left Janice and Kelsey in the car, I knew something bad would happen."

"How?"

"I don't know, I just had a feeling."

"Okay then."

There was a long silence until Hayden whispered to me again.

"If I die, If I get hurt. Tell Kelsey to take care all of you." She said.

"You won't die. I promise." I said.

She smiled and continued walking. We were in the middle of the group. Josh, Fred and Mike were infront of the group, Jenny at my right and Jamie at Hayden's left.

I noticed that everything was quiet. Until we reached the hallway. We saw the two WolfDog walking around. They saw us and growled. They were looking directly at us. And after a second, they started running towards us.

The other WolfDog went for Fred, Josh and Jamie while the other one came for the rest. I didn't know what to do actually but I only tried developing my powers but I couldn't. I saw Jenny kicking the WolfDog at the stomach.

Jemny spun around and kicked the WolfDog on his head but it wouldn't give up. Jamie also tried developing his powers and it finally worked. Dark Brown gus or air came out from his palm and pointed it to the WolfDog.

The WolfDog made a noise which tells that it was in pain. The WolfDog escaped the Gus or air and vastly ran away. The other WolfDog kept fighting Fred and Josh. Mike shot the WolfDog and it was thrown to the wall. It lay there, lifelessly.

We checked whether if it's dead or not. Mike knelt down beside the WolfDog and felt it's stomach.

"It's still breathing." Mike said, looking at the WolfDog.

And suddenly, the WolfDog opened his eyes and tried to bite Mike. But Mike was fast that he shot the WolfDog at his stomach. I could say that it wasn't breathing anymore.

"Well, that's the rules in Zombieland. Double Tap." Josh said.

"Yeah." Jenny said.

We continued walking slowly but Fred stopped.

"I'm thinking of something." He said.

"What is it?" Mike asked.

"What if the rooms that didn't had a camera footage could be where Mr. Corman and Emily are."

"But what are the rooms that didn't had a camera footage?"

"Bathroom, maybe." Josh said.

We all gave him an 'are you serious?' look.

"Guys, I'm just joking." Josh said.

"Well, it's not funny." Jenny said.

"Okay, my jokes aren't funny but I'm just doing this because later we're gonna be screaming in pain."

"You have a point." Mike said.

"Let's just go." Jenny said.

We continued walking through the hallway. We kept walking until we came to the dead end, but there was a Dark Green door. I heard Josh say the f word behind me.

"It'a a dead end. Let's go." Josh said.

"Yeah." Mike said.

"Wait, there's a room, let's look inside." I said.

"Come on, Elaine. Stop joking." Josh said.

"I'm not joking."

"Stop."

"What do you mean? We have to check it."

"Elaine."

"What?"

"There's no door."
