Chasing Pavements

Broken

Joe and Brynn were home for the weekend since they weren't booked for anything so Brynn was in their bedroom while Joe was mumbling to himself in the other room

Brynn knew something was bothering him but she didn't know exactly what it was

"Babe." Joe called as he walked in to face her

"We need to talk," he said

"Okay?" She said sitting down confused

"What's up?" She asks, folding her arms

She watched him trying to put his words together before he began

"I don't know how to say this."

"Babe, whatever it is, you can tell me." She told him

"This isn't working out," he finally said

"What?" She whispered

"I can't keep going on without marriage and kids, I just want to be married to you, I want to be the father of your kids, I want to grow old with you. I know I said that I was okay waiting until you were ready but dammit. I can't. I want marriage and kids again and I don't know if this relationship is worth sacrificing my happiness." He explained there was nearly 5 minutes of silence then

"Okay," Brynn said as she walked over to the closet and began pulling out her stuff, trying to blink back the burning tears in her eyes

"So that's it? You're not gonna fight for me?" He asked him and Brynn looked at him incredulously

"I just didn't want to lose you in anyway. It was breaking my heart even thinking about losing you," she replied

"But if this is what you want then I'll give it to you. You do deserve to be happy Joe and if it's not with me, then I'll bow out." She explained

"I just wanted it to be us forever. I love you Brynn and I truly didn't want to, I don't want to lose you but I feel like through this relationship I've made too many sacrifices, I'm sorry Brynn, I just can't go on." Joe said, tears beginning to fill his eyes

And Brynn hated herself when she heard her heart break as she went over to hug him

"I love you Joe, and maybe this is best, maybe you need to find someone who can make you happy, I know I can't." Brynn admitted

"You make me so happy Brynn, that's the issue, I'll be so much happier if we get married and have kids," Joe said

"I can't!" Brynn yelled and startled Joe as things got really quiet

"I can't give you any of that Joe, and I'm sorry if I can't. I'm just sorry." Brynn told him before she got up and left

When she was outside, she heard a vase hit the wall and knew Joe was livid but she also know it wasn't because of her, he was mad at himself. She could picture his hands in his hair, gripping tightly and tears streaming down his cheeks and she so badly wanted to go back in and comfort him, but she knew he needed space

"Nikki? Hey, are you and Trin still down the hall? I need a place to crash," she spoke to Nikki on the phone

Then she walked down to the girls' room and went in and after explaining what had happened, she was in tears and the girls were hugging her

"I need to head down to Jimmy's room, I'll see you girls later," Trin said picking up a bag and leaving

"Come on B, it's gonna be okay," Nikki said

"We always separate and get back together but this time, he actually broke up with me. I don't know what to do." Brynn cried on Nikki's shoulder

"Let's just get you to bed now mama," Nikki said and Brynn nodded, excusing herself to the bathroom first and just when she closed the door behind her, her phone rang

BestFriend❤❤❤ calling....

Brynn sighed and rejected the call, she knew what he'd say. He'd say that she and Joe should talk it through, that they could work it out. Brynn knew they could but she didn't want to work it out, she wasn't willing to work it out knowing that it'd still be in the back of his mind and she was too scared to change her own mind

She sighed as she let her head fall hard against the pillow, crying

Brynn always hated how Jon texted as she closed her eyes, she was so emotionally exhausted right now, Jon thinks Joe has problems? She just got her heart ripped out

And now, she felt....broken.
