"Yeah?" Joe replied from the bedroom, Brynn walked upstairs and saw him on the bed with his reading glasses on and he was on the laptop. She always loved when he put on his glasses.
"So," she began sliding up the bed to him, Joe wrapped an arm around her as soon as she was close, resting his hand on her ass
"You know how I'm not needed at work for awhile?" She asked, tracing patterns on his chest
"Yeah," he replied smiling at her
"We're planning to go for a girls' trip, so I just wanted to know if you had anything planned," she said, taking his feelings into consideration
He pursed his lips and shook his head
"Not that I know of, how many days?" He asked her, yawning and putting an arm behind his head and leaving the arm wrapped around her
"3 days," she replied
"Oh yeah baby, when do you leave?" He asked
"Wednesday," she said and Joe smirked
"Well, that's 2 days from now, so how about I get something to remember you by," Joe said, playfully swatting her butt and she chuckled as they dimmed the light in the room and she carefully took off his glasses with a smile and they had a night
The next morning, Joe was at the table sipping his coffee with Brynn across from him, cutting up her pancakes when her phone rang, she was still cutting pancakes so Joe went to get it
"Hello?" He answered
"Oh hey Nikki, yeah she's right here," he said, handing Brynn the phone, before resuming his position
"Hey Niks, yeah I'm doing the vacation. So wait, who's going? Oh okay, Trin, Nattie, CJ and me and you, okay sounds amazing actually. Yeah alright I'll call you later, yeah okay bye." She said hanging up the phone
"Sounds like a fun trip," Joe said with a smile and she nodded
"Yeah, what're you gonna do while I'm gone?" She asked him and he shrugged
"Probably just gonna chill, invite Jon and Colby over," he replied and Brynn nodded
"I may go down to Gal's to see JOJO." Joe said with a nonchalent shrug and Brynn did a spit take, spitting her coffee on the table
"So you're gonna be down at Galina's place while I'm nearly 500 miles away? Unbelievable." She said looking at him
"C'mon Brynn, nothing's gonna happen." Joe said and Brynn rolled her eyes
"Last time you went down there, you came back with a wedding picture and I got a slap." She reminded him, watching as hurt flashed on his face
"Brynn, how many times have I said I'm sorry? If you weren't getting on my nerves then-" he explained as she stood up
"Oh so you slapped me cuz I was getting on your nerves?" She said in disbelief
"Right, cuz that's what everyone does right?" She continued
"Brynn, I-" he began
"How could you even say that to me? Me getting on your nerves is a good reason for you to leave your handprint on my face?" She asked
"Honestly Jon did right hitting you with that dirty deeds," she said
"Oh Jon this, Jon that, hell, why don't you just marry him! You two have alot of history." Joe said
"I'm sick of hearing about Jon every single day. Why'd you hide that relationship from me for so long to huh?" He asked
"Because for all I know y'all could be fucking behind my back!" Joe yelled and didn't have time to register as Brynn's hand reached his cheek and she marched past him
He growled lowly and rubbed his cheek when he heard the bedroom door slam shut
Brynn quickly packed some clothes and her vacation bag before she opened back the door and walked past him in the kitchen. When he saw the bags, he got worried and followed her
"Where the hell are you going?" He asked, grabbing her hand
"Don't touch me." She hissed, pulling her hand away
"Don't you even touch me." She repeated putting her bags into the car
"Where are you going?" He repeated his question
"To the man that you say I'm fucking." She said as the tears built up in her eyes
"How can you look at your girlfriend, the woman you supposedly want to marry, and indirectly call her a whore?" She asked
"You're basically calling me a whore cuz I wanna spend time with my daughter," he replied
"Yeah but Jon ain't my ex-husband Joseph. Galina was your ex-wife, how the hell am I to know that you don't still have feelings for her?" She called back, turning off when her tears felt heavier and her voice cracked
"I don't wanna be around you right now. I'll see you when I get back." She said, getting into the car and driving off, watching Joe in the rear view mirror as he rubbed his forehead
She can't believe he accused her of being with Jon, being unfaithful to their relationship with Jon of all people, one of her best friends. That absolutely killed her. She reached as far as Sika and Tricia's place and thought of the irony but they were all she had within her reach. She didn't directly tell them the problem. Just that she and Joe were going through some stuff and they understood
On the other end, Joe couldn't fall asleep. He looked around the house and saw so many things to remind him of Brynn. The pictures, the flowers he'd get her that sat on the kitchen counter, he twisted and turned for an hour in the bed, every move he made raised Brynn's scent, and the vanilla and lavender clouded his senses and made him want to cry
He got up and decided that he'd sleep on the couch, they never slept without each other and in the bed where they made love countless times, and that smelt like her, would get him nowhere. As he lay down on the couch and got comfortable, staring at him on the wall, was a painting Nikki had gotten them for their one year anniversary

It was one of Joe's favourite picture. He sat up and looked at it, they took that the day after he had asked her to be his girlfriend. He remembered it exactly. They were backstage RAW and he knew he loved her but it was too soon to tell her. He snatched her before she went to change for her match and in front of everyone that was bussling down the hallways, asked her if she'd be his girlfriend, shs said yes, and they kissed and she hugged him and Colby was congratulating them when Nicole took the picture. Happier times, he thought as he felt his cheeks tighten, meaning he was smiling
He picked up his phone and sighed as he dialled her number
She was on her side in the guest room, eyes open watching the minutes tick by, then her phone screen lit up and she sighed as she saw who was calling

Brynn sighed and let it ring, turning on the other side. Joe pulled the phone away from his ear as he got her voicemail. He sighed and lay back on the couch. He hated that he let this thing get so far and now it was a whole situation.
