Are You Serious?

Brynn and Joe were just chilling with Jon, Colby and The Usos until Brynn had to go speak to Stephanie

"Man prom was amazing, I remember Uce went with Kathy Danelle and complained all night after that she smelt like cat pee," Joe said pointing to Jey as everyone laughed

"You went with Amy Shwartz, she was so hot, but she snorted when she laughed," Jey rebuttled to Joe who chuckled

"Mom managed to scrape money to get me a suit and I ended up going with Gwen Davis, she was awesome. She had this really cool bone collection in her closet," Jon added making everyone laugh

"What about you Brynn? How was your prom?" Colby asked and Brynn looked at him and shrugged

"I didn't go," she said and everyone grew quiet

"Dad uh, didn't have extra money to waste on stuff like a dress or anything," she admitted and then looked at her phone when it dinged

"Steph's ready, I'll see you guys later," she said and stood up, kissing Joe's cheek before she left

Joe drummed his fingers on the table for a few minutes before looking up when Jey spoke

"She never went to prom?" He asked and Jon shook his head

"She never felt the need to, she never got her special night," Jon said making everyone sad

"Let's throw her one," Joe said and all eyes were on him

"Brynn deserves the best things this life has to offer, prom is one of them, we'll plan it, she'll have a great night,"  Joe said, getting excited and everyone agreed

Joe smiled as everyone began conversing and he began to plan this, he would make sure Brynn got this special night, he'd make her feel like she was the most important person in the world, because to him? She was.

They were at the hotel now and Brynn was on Joe's chest as everyone talked around them

"So we're throwing you a prom," Joe told her and she looked at him and lifted her head

"Are you serious?" She asked, joking smile on her face

"I'm not gonna tell you the details, but yeah, we're throwing you a prom, we're having it at Colby's house, because you deserve this." He told her and she smiled

"You guys don't have to," she said, looking around at the people in the room

"We want to B, you deserve to experience this," Colby told her and she smiled, biting back the tears in her eyes

Her group of friends were absolutely amazing and so thoughtful. She truly couldn't imagine having better friends

Jon bit the inside of his cheek and stood up

"I'm gonna get going," he announced and Brynn furrowed her eyebrows

"I'll walk you out," she told him and stood up, he adverted his eyes as he took up his jacket and slid it on

"Are you okay Jon?" She asked as they stepped outside and he gave her a tight lipped smile

"Yeah, uh, I'm good," he admitted and shoved his hands in his pocket

"Okay, goodnight Jon," she wished and he smiled as she hugged him and he returned it

"Goodnight Brynn," he replied and he walked off

He laid in bed that night, alone, since Renee was in Canada since her grandma was sick. He rubbed a hand over his face and huffed. He was scared. He thought about the day Joe would finally propose to Brynn, that day, would be the day Jon would drive himself mad, he wouldn't be able to take it

Joe smiled in content as he felt Brynn's delicate hand trace patterns on his stomach and her head on his chest

"So about this prom, I need you to get a dress," he told her and she chuckled

"Oh really? I was thinking to show up in my underwear," she joked

"I would love nothing more, especially if it's the lacy black ones," he replied and she scoffed playfully and lightly slapped his stomach

"You'll tell me what colour you decide cuz I need to match it to my tie," he continued and she smirked

"Oh yeah? And just who told you I'd be going with you Mr. Anoa'i? As I recall, I haven't even been asked yet," she teased and Joe's smile fell and he quickly got up and ran into the kitchen

After a few minutes of confusion, he came back in with a plate in his hands, he sat down on the bed and showed it to her

It was chocolate covered strawberries that were arranged to spell out 'PROM?' Brynn smiled at him as he looked at her

"Brynn Adams, it would be my honour to escort such a lovely little lady as yourself to prom," he said in a terrible British accent that made Brynn laugh

"I would love that," she replied, wide smile on her lips

He set the plate down and smiled back, already planning the theme and the snacks and everything, he NEEDED this night to be perfect for Brynn. He wouldn't settle for anything less
