The early morning light shone into the cabin with warm tranquillity. It passed through the curtains easily and landed gently on the closed eyes of the people, asleep in the small nearby bed.

Mark laid on his back, his eyes closed but he wasn't sleeping. Vampires didn't sleep unless they needed to heal over a longer period of time, much like he had done when he was buried.

Jack and Mark had done research on what happened and it seemed that Vampires 'coming back from the dead' was common in the 1800's. When vampires started to became so old that their bodies would never die, they could regenerate from anything, given that their brain was still intact. Of course older vampires had a weakness of not being able to go without food for over 24 hours. Something new vampires couldn't do, they could go without blood for three weeks. Given that they didn't go insane from hungry first.

Next to Mark was Jack. Curled up into a ball, with a small smile on his face. He must have been having a pleasant dream.

Mark opened his eyes at the morning light. He was sure it was only five am. About three hours before Jacks usually got up. The vampire sat up and swung his legs over the side of the bed. He glanced back at Seàn who still slept peacefully.

Mark felt his hunger grow more persistent. His throat growing progressively dry and his stomach ache. He felt a strange feeling of tiredness set in his bones, because he was so old he started to shut down after not eating, it was like his body was preparing for a coma. Unlike newer vampires, who went insane from hunger, the tiredness in their bones was instead adrenaline and the instinct to survive.

Sorry Jack, I have to feed I'll be back soon
Mark scribbled down on the notepad next to their bed, he hoped that the would see it when he woke up.

The vampire used his speed to race out of Jack's cabin and into the nearby woods. The green wet trees passed him as quickly as rain drops. It was within seconds that he was able to find prey.

Mark considered himself lucky as he stood above a deer. It laid almost motionless with what seemed to be a freshly broken back leg. Looking up it was apparent that the deer had fallen off the small cliff that held an old freeway overhead.

With now red eyes he gazed down at it. It would only be merciful to take it out of its misery. And so he did. He lent down and drank it dry so that it would provide him with enough energy to last him until tomorrow morning, when he would need to feed again. Hopefully he would last that long.

Mark stood, looking in the direction of the sun only to find that it was still barely risen. Jack wouldn't be awake for hours. The red head looked in the direction of the town.

" I swore I'd help Dan. It's only been a few weeks..." Mark trailed off.
" The wound would still be fresh".

Mark took off running towards town where he knew Dan would be laying, awake in his room only for his parents to think he was sleeping.

And that was exactly how Mark found the vampire. Laying motionless on a made bed on top of the covers. His eyes wide open, staring at the ceiling above him. It was if he was dead he laid so still.

The red head silently climbed through the window. Making sure not to knock anything off the desk in front of the window.

" Why are you here?" Dan questioned, his voice monotone.

Mark casually sat in Dan's desk chair, folding his hands together.
" I said that I would help you re-build".

Dan scoffed at Mark as he sat up. The younger vampires brown eyes pierced into the elders soul like knifes. They were cold and distant, all trust gone.
