Ethan felt the rough jolt of his hand being held and pulled. In the sudden adrenaline filled haste, the blue haired boy looked up. His eyes caught sight of Tyler, the rage filled face of a man bent on vengeance.
The distant sound of a whistle blow we herd, but neither man payed attention to it. They were too preoccupied with with other to notice anything else.
It took one throw from Tyler for Ethan to hit the concrete wall. With his free hand, the human covered the back of his skull, he didn't want his brain pouring out. His hand took the full impact, his ribs feeling the force as well. Ethan cried out in pain as he felt bones in his hand snap, the white hot pain trickled down his fingers and up his arm.
Tyler stood in front of Ethan, angry eyes bore into Ethan's. His iron stare making the human quiver with fear. Ethan came too well enough so that he could see Dan's movements down the stairs. They were fast, almost faster than the blink of an eye. But Tyler was much closer and much faster.
Ethan didn't think that hunter could move so fast. With a few blinks of an eye Tyler had placed his hand on the smaller boys shoulder, of the hand he held.
For a few misleading seconds, Ethan thought that maybe, just maybe, Tyler was trying to talk with him. Try to speak, try to do something to communicate.
But words weren't needed to express his anger as those fingers dung into Ethan's flesh. As blunt objects ripped through the flesh with a squelch and a spray of blood, Ethan didn't have time to scream.
Tyler's fingers hocked under the skin, sending sharp pain throughout Ethan's body. The hunter raked down his hand, his fingertips ripping streaks of flesh off his chest.
That's when the hunter as tackled by Dan. The vampire easily brought him down to the ground.
Tyler had let go of his prey as he fell, leaving Ethan to be a bloody mess, shocked against the wall. As he watched the two men fight he held his wound that couldn't be more then a centimetre deep. It wouldn't kill him, but it would take a long time to heal.
" TYLER STOP!" Dan's booming, surprisingly deep voice shouted.
As the noise echoed off the walls, Tyler laid still, letting Dan hold him down onto of him. Wrists pinned to the floor.
Dan stared down at Tyler, question but anger in his eyes. The vampire was trying not to be enticed by the scent of blood. It hadn't been long since he'd feed, but a vampire never could get enough to drink.
" Phil take care of Ethan" Dan ordered.
Phil quickly walked into the cage, pulling Ethan out. The boy stumbled while he walked, shock still freezing his joints. The boy glanced back at Tyler with tears in his eyes, only to see that Tyler's were dry.
Dan's attention went back to the man he held down.
" Why did you do that?".
Tyler stayed silent for a while, his mouth opening and closing but no sound coming out. He eyes seemed to fade from rock to water as he cried.
" I can't control myself anymore!".

The first thing Mark saw was the harsh light of the basement. It flickered begins his eyes as he came too.
The vampire's head hurt, but not as badly as it did when he was starved for blood. His vision was sharp as he opened his eyes, the clear picture of blood soaked pants and floor.
Mark lifted his head up to feel no wound across his neck, as he swallowed and took in air, he found his neck was healed. His stomach wasn't full, but parched. He felt able
Iron chains still held him in the metal chair with an unforgiving grip. It still spiked his arms, his chest, his legs. He was still unsure if he would be able to break out.
" You're awake" a kind, familiar voice spoke.
Mark's eyes focused across the room, not to find Jack strapped to the metal table like he thought. Instead the Irishmen's arms were handcuffed above his head. He was bound to one of the metal stairs that lead topside.
" Where's Shane? Felix?" Mark asked, his voice still dry from his voice box not being used.
Jack shifted his in his place, his rear going numb as he had been sitting for too long. Not to mention his arms loosening some circulation from being fastened about his head. The human conducted his limbs as if they were heavy. His skin was pale, his eyes half closed, he seemed almost unconscious.
" They gave some of your blood to me" Mark stated.
Jack could only nod drunkenly, every movement of his head screaming at him. He once again tried to get comfortable, but he couldn't, he doubted he ever will.
" It's smart" Seàn spoke.
" Weaken one to keep the other alive".
Mark jolted in his chair, testing his strength against the chains. They hindered a little, giving no one than a fingertips Le-way. He wouldn't be able to escape them.
" They didn't give me enough, I can't break out".
Jack chuckled, his voice lower than normal.
" I don't think they intended to let you".
Mark sighed, slumping in his chair.
" So...What, we just wait here for them to return?".
This time it was Jack's turn to sigh. He looked up at his cuffed wrists. Somehow he knew pulling at them the little that he did wouldn't help, but he felt that he had too.
The Irishmen's gaze faultered towards the floor, his eyes welling with tears. He tired to keep his chest from contracting with emotions, but even that was difficult.
He didn't understand. He had tried to stop his urges, he hadn't hurt anyone in over a year. Unless that had asked, and if they had asked. Well that was their fault, not mine.
" What are we going to do Mark? My past keeps biting me in the arse" Jack asked.
" Sometimes I think that I should have taken Felix's threat seriously, I should have moved a few towns over".
Mark chuckled, feeling himself drain even now. The blood he had wouldn't last long. He only hoped that Shane would return by morning, if not, he'd have another year of coma.
" Like that would help" The vampire mumbled.
Jack furrowed his brows at this. What did he mean? How wouldn't it help? He'd be away from all the people he's hurt. All the people he hated would be miles away. How wouldn't that help?
" What?" Jack asked.
Mark shuffled in his chair slightly. His chains scraping, iron on stainless steel.
Mark looked to Jack. Looked to the boy chained across the room from him. This was a ridiculous situation. Nothing two normal small town high school students would expect. But here they were. Through death and torture and vampires. They got here. This all could have been avoided if-.
" Don't you get it!" Mark shouted.
" You can never escape. There's always going to be your urges. They'll never stop, we know that now! There's always going to be another vampire like Felix, who was willing to control you for a time. There will always be someone like me" Mark stopped. His emotions getting choked in his throat.
He saw the pleading childish eyes of Jack. He was a broken boy, did he never fully understand what he's done?
" Someone like me who will find the mysterious boy, who glanced at them across the school halls. Someone who found so many cookie crumbs and so many mysteries that he had no choice but to follow them".
" Mark what are you saying?".
" There will always be someone like you in every town! Every generation! Someone so broken that-so broken that they..".
Mark's clenched fists struggled underneath their restraints. He wouldn't let tears comes to his eyes, he wouldn't let any more emotion drip in his voice.
" So broken that they break others" Jack finished.
