It was a half moon that provided light into the streets, for most of the street lamps failed to work. Silent shoes and the absence of breath loomed over a single human that walked the streets.

His footsteps were hurried as the boy hugged his school bag, he'd always been afraid of the dark. He pushed his light rimmed glasses up his face as he began to jog.

That was until a hooded figure cut him off from around the corner.
The student was forced to stop, startled so that he dropped his school bag, his books falling out.

" What?" The student asked, his voice high.

The hooded figure removed his hood to reveal red hair in the moonlight.

" Mark?" The boy asked.
" It's me Garrett, from school".

Mark stared at his prey with cold eyes, he smiled, revealing sharp white fangs that gleamed in the natural light. He took a step forward, hands in his pockets.

Garrett sensed there was something wrong, fear flashed across his face. He bit his lip and hugged his torso.

" Mark? Are you okay?" He asked, his voice cracking.

The boy didn't respond but instead leapt into action, pulling his prey into the alley, covering his mouth so he couldn't scream. The human was pressed against the wall, head slammed to the side allowing access to his neck.

Marks eyes flared red, he was hungry, however he hesitated.

Do I really want to take another's life?

" Or I'll show you what pain is".

With his memory's of threats from his father to motivate him, fangs plunged into flesh. A muffed scream was herd coming from the human.

The vampire quickly finished his meal, whipped his mouth as he dropped the body to the ground. His red eyes almost glowing, over taking the moonlight.

Marks shoes hit the floor with no sound, his breath so silent it seemed almost non-existing. Students didn't give the outcast a second look, not caring about that of his existence.

The vampire quickly found his locker. Pulling out his books and his laptop for his first class. His eyes glanced over a sliver, gleaming object. It sat only with its brother next to him. The smaller sliver object dwarf in comparison.

Once again Marks fingertips grazed across the bigger object. But once again the boy ended up taking the pocket knife, storing it in his jeans.

He closed his locker and turned to make his way to class, only to be met with deep blue eyes. They were anxious and distant, dead and motionless, although their vessel was very much alive.

Mark stopped, suddenly worried for his classmate.
" Tyler?" He asked.

The teenager didn't seem to respond to his name, but rather stayed in his position. Staring and non-moving.

Mark adjusted his books in his hands and put a gentle hand on Tyler's shoulder. Oakley flinched away from the others touch.

" Tyler? Are you okay?" The vampire questioned again.

This time the student looked up and met Marks brown eyes with his own deep blue.
" Yes" he breathed, seeming out of it.

Tyler glanced behind Mark and suddenly grew scared.
" I s-suppose I'm...I'm tired" The boy squeaked as he rushed off.

Mark watched Tyler leave, hugging himself and looking down, his steps fast and short. The white haired teen passed Jack on his way to class.

Jack winked at Tyler, who looked away with fear in his eyes, then quickened his pace.
