Once again Ryland looked over the unconscious Shane, laid across the grey couch. The small boy used all his strength to heave the heavy man on side side so that he wouldn't choke on his own saliva.

The small boy looked up at the clock that hung on the wall, the rhythm of ticking the only way he'd could tell that this moment wasn't frozen.

One am

Ryland sighed and removed the vomit flies bucket from the side of the couch. He made his way to the sink and poured out the acidic contents. His lungs coughed at the smell, although the water helped to dilute the scent. The hot water ran down the sink, that and the clock was the only noise in the house.

They all made him so anxious that his body completely shut down. And I don't understand why. I won't know how to calm him down. I don't know what goes through his head. I can't help him. I need to help him, I need to understand.

In his own thoughts he neglected to notice his hand reaching closer to the hot water. His finger tips grazed the steaming surface of the water.

Ryland hissed and brought his hand to his chest. With careful hands he emptied the bucket and lifted it out of the sink.

Shane was still sleeping and would be for more then 12 hours. He never wakes easily either. Ryland set the red bucket next to the couch unless Shane needed at some point.

Maybe it's better if he's asleep, the doesn't have to deal with anything.
I just hope he wouldn't want to make his state permanent.

The small man sighed and sat down next to his boyfriend. Pulling a fuzzy blanket over both of them. Their tabby cat came and sat between them, purring sleepily.

I hope one day I can help him

Mark sighed as he looked out into the forest. It was calm and it seemed there was no wind. Rain fell ever so lightly onto the land giving it a smell even Mark liked.

The creature smelt the air. He smelt more than rain. A familiar presence he'd been near before. They were making their way here as fast as a human could run. Mark didn't think they'd be a threat, for they were alone and they were tiny.

" Hey Mark" Jack almost whispered as he emerged from the hall where his room was.

The vampire turned to the human and watched it stretch it tiredness out. Jack strode over to the kitchen and splashed his face with water, running it through his air.

"Ethan is making his way here" Mark spoke.

Jack stopped and gave Mark a confused expression, his hair dripping a bit from the water. The Irishmen turned the tap off and crossed his arms.

" Who's that?" He asked.

" One of the hunters, he's human as far as I know. He's alone" Mark informed.

Jack had peered into the almost empty fridge while his boyfriend spoke. The human pulled out shredded cheese and started to eat it like pop corn.

" Why is he coming here?" Seàn asked with a mouth full of cheese.

Mark shrugged his shoulders.
" I don't know him, why would I know?".

Jack couldn't say another word as a loud knock that seemed more like a bang sounded at the door. The two made eye contact for a few seconds and Jack swallowed his huge mouthful of food.

Mark walked over to see that it was raining heavier then before, the water was now heavy enough to soak the land. In front of him stood a cold, shiver and wet boy. His blue hair sticking to his forehead and his arms holding himself.

" Ethan" Mark addressed and stood aside to let him past.

The human shuffled inside and cringed as water ran off him and flowed through the crack in the floor. His innocent eyes glanced at Jack and filled with fear, he quickly returned his gaze to the ground.

" Why are you here?" Mark asked handing the boy a towel.

Ethan hesitantly grabbed the fluffy material. He wondered why Mark was being generous towards him, but elected not to question it and simply dry his hair.

" It's Tyler" Ethan whispered.

At the familiar name Jack's ears perked up. He walked over.

" Tyler, the big guy? Curly hair? Yells a lot?" Jack questioned.

Ethan glanced at Jack. This tie all three boys notice he fear in the small humans eyes. Ethan just nodded.

" What about him?" The vampire asked.

Ethan handed the towel back to Mark who gently sat it on the worn couch.

" When we got him back from Jack, he-he didn't come back the same. It's like his personality was stripped away"The blue haired boy said.

Immediately Mark glared at the human with an unamused expression. He crossed his arms and leant back on the couch.

Jack held up his hand like a gun was being pointed at him. In his right hand he held the bag of cheese while he chewed what he'd just put in his mouth.

" I swear on my life I didn't touch Tyler. I never got close enough" Jack said truthfully.

"Tyler is like an animal now. We had to cage him before he bit someone again" Ethan explained while he pulled up his sleeve.

On the pale, damp skin both boys cringed at the sight of a deep bite wound made by a human. It was had individually stitched up. It looked very painful.

Jack shook his head.
" I don't do that to people, I don't make them crazy".

Mark nodded to the conversation and was silently agreeing to what Jack was saying.

" Who else came into contact with Tyler?" Mark asked.

Jack face fell as he realised something.
" Dan" he breathed.
"I ordered him to drink from Tyler downstairs so that Tyler wouldn't hurt himself. Dan was down there for a long time. He must have done something".

Mark rolled his eyes and stood up straight.
" Well no wonder he had a knack for torture after I left".

" Can Dan undo what he did?" Ethan asked quickly.

Jack nodded.
" Yeah, to undo it takes a few weeks, but it can be done".

Ethan smiled happily and jumped up and down like a child.
" Well lets go get him!".

Mark placed a soft hand of the boys shoulder to stop his actions.
" Dan is in the state jail".

The boys face immediately fell, his hands fell to his sides and he slumped.
"I knew I should have listened to the other when they told me not to come".

Jack and Mark shared a glance. Jack was mentally disagreeing with what he knew Mark was about to say.

" I'll go get him" the vampire spoke, determined.
