It would have been awkward to explain to anyone that didn't know the situation, what I was doing right now. Or rather, what position I was in. Platonically.
Right now Jacks head laid on my chest as he slept. His arms wrapped around my torso and his legs tangled in mine.
Both of us were fully clothed of course.
I used my thumb to lightly massage his back as he snored. After all that blood loss I figured it only logical that he needed rest. So here we were. Right now.
Sleeping. Totally clothed and on top of the bed sheets.
Well he slept, I couldn't. I was a vampire. Sleep was as natural to me a pink elephants, with tiny ears.
As I looked up at the ceiling my mind wandered. Images of Dan and Felix being as scared as a deer in headlights just from my presence. What it because I was an older vampire?
No they never had any trouble like that before with me....
It would have been understandable that Felix was dared after being beat up like that-
Wait.
No.
Felix doesn't get beat up, he's the most popular guy in school. He was about as immune to bullies as Jack was. Everyone loved Felix. Even if he did I was sure he would fight back. I would often see him separating Dan and some poor kid.
Felix never let bullies get the best of him.
I mentally sighed, frustrated. What happened to this town? Did everything just fall apart when I left?
That can't be right...
I wasn't making an impact on the first place.
I need to talk to someone. Right now.
But not Jack. He desperately needs rest. I wouldn't want to cause him brain damage while he's healing. I wish I could have taken him to the hospital. But he refused to let me.
I carefully slipped out from under him. Replacing myself with a pillow of which he gracefully took and cuddled. I found a pen and paper on the desk next to the bed for writing notes.
Scribbling down that I went for a walk and would be home by morning. I left.
Where would I go?
I saw it as having two choices.
Felix?
Or
Dan?
Shane maybe? He always knew things...
Dan was closer. I'll start with him.
Using my Vampire speed I was at his door in a matter of seconds. I didn't knock. Not at this time of night. I was confident he wouldn't mind me coming in...
But his parents might...Are they even home.
Deciding to take the safe route I found myself climbing up the wall of his house to his second story window. I had no trouble getting through his open window. I came in to find Dan laying. Staring at the ceiling like it was a movie he wasn't interested in. Hands behind his head and legs crossed.
I found it stand. But then again. What did I expect him to be doing? Sleeping? He's a vampire like me we can't do that.
After padding toward him slowly I soon saw that he hadn't realised I was here. He was really concentrating on...nothing.
I took a bold move and tapped his arm.
Dan jumped a million miles and hour into the floor next to his bed. But surprisingly he didn't make a sound.
" What are you doing here?!" He practically yelled.
" Shh! Be quiet! What about your parents?" I harshly whispered.
Dan stood tall, visibly moving away from me.
" They're not home, out on business for two months...".
I nodded, understanding.
The air grew stale and calm, awkward silence hung in the air.
" Can I help you or?" Dan asked, hugging his torso.
I nodded.
" Yeah I needed to talk to you about something".
Dan nodded and gestured for me to take a seat on the bed. While he sat in a roller chair on the other side of the room. The teen played with his finger as I assumed he wanted me to start the conversation.
