"Do you recognize him?" Chanyeol asks, staring at the rotting body. You might have known them once, but their features have rotted and peeled off.
"I don't think so." You sigh and step over it, looking around your room. All the items from your desk have been knocked onto the floor and blood is smeared across your bed.
"Looks like you were quite the fan." You turn to Chanyeol to see him admiring the large EXO poster on your wall.
"Yeah..." You feel your cheeks heating up in embarrassment. You quickly become very aware of how much EXO merch you have on display. Albums, posters, photo cards... "I have an old schoolbag somewhere, we could use it." You open your wardrobe to find some of your clothes missing. Was someone in here? Well obviously the zombie, but it doesn't seem to be carrying anything. You dig out the backpack buried underneath a pile of clothes.
"So, what are you going to take?" Chanyeol asks, picking up your copy of The War album.
"Just some spare clothes and stuff like that." You shrug and start stuffing it with clothes. You also grab your deodorant and feminine products, just in case. As you pull out clothes, you notice something glinting in the back of your wardrobe. "My old guitar."
"You can play guitar?" Chanyeol's face lights up and he's quickly by your side.
"Yeah, I haven't played for a while though." Zipping up the bag, you sling it onto your back and look out of the window. The ambulance is still outside. You notice the sky is tinted a light pink. "It's gonna get dark soon... The house seems quite secure and it still has electricity. Maybe we could stay here for the night?"
"Maybe, we'll have to talk to the others first."
"Alright, let's go." The two of you leave the room, once again stepping over the dead body. Baekhyun is waiting for you in the kitchen, the counter covered in cans, packets of crisps, water bottles and knives.
"Are you guys okay? I heard something upstairs but it sounded like you handled it."
"We found one of those things upstairs. It's not a problem anymore." You pull out the screwdriver you used earlier. Baekhyun looks a little grossed out, but also relieved.
"That's good. So, are we leaving?"
"We're thinking of staying here for the night. We're gonna ask the others if they think it's a good idea." Chanyeol walks over to the counter and picks up a kitchen knife. "How many of these did you find?"
"Four, including that one."
"Good. Let's go see the others." You and Baekhyun follow Chanyeol out of the back door and head over to the ambulance. Kai opens the driver door, looking rather on edge.
"Are you guys okay?" He asks, letting the three of you get inside and into the back.
"Yeah, there was one zombie upstairs, we handled it." Chanyeol hands the gun back to Kai. "No sign of (y/n)'s mum though."
"The house still has electricity. It seems secure. I was thinking we could stay there for the night." Your suggestion gains mixed reactions.
"What if someone takes the truck?" Lay asks, along with some murmurs from D.O and Suho.
"I think it will be okay for the night, as long as we lock it of course." You turn to Kai. He runs his fingers through his hair and sighs deeply.
"I think it's a good idea. It has electricity and warmth. I'm sure we'll be fine for the night." Kai's decision seems to relax the group.
"Is there food?" Chen asks.
"Yeah, and water." The faces around you light up at the thought of food and water.
"It's settled then, we'll spend the night in the house." Kai stands up and begins to help the others out.
"Should we take the medical supplies?" Xiumin turns to you.
"How about... We take half of them. So if we have to get out of the house in a hurry or something happens to the truck, then we'll still have enough." Satisfied with your decision, he grabs one of the bags of supplies and follows the others out of the truck. Kai is the last one out. He locks the doors and stuffs the keys into his pocket. Once all of you reach the house, you lock the back gate.
"Wow, that's a lot of food!" Sehun smiles and picks up a can of beans.
"Yeah, it should last us for a few days." You mumble, locking the back door and placing the keys on the kitchen counter.
"First thing's first, we should probably figure out who's sleeping where." Chanyeol appears behind you. The idols all stop what they're doing and turn to you.
"Well, there's the sofa which could probably fit one or two people. There's a single bed in my room, a double bed in my mums, and a single in the spare bedroom. So that's six people sorted. I know there's an inflatable double bed somewhere... Oh, and I have a sleeping bag from a camping trip I went on last summer. So there's only one person left without a bed." The group exchanges looks. They're all used to luxury, of course, they'd want a proper bed.
"It's safer upstairs, so maybe the injured should sleep up there," Kai suggests.
"Yeah, that's a good idea. Okay, Suho and Sehun you can take the single beds in my room and the spare. Chen and Xiumin, are you okay sharing the double bed?" They glance at each other for a moment before nodding. "Okay, upstairs is sorted." Now you have to decide where Baekhyun, D.O, Lay, Kai, Chanyeol and you are going to sleep.
"I'd be fine with the sleeping bag." Lay says quickly.
"Alright. That leaves 5." You sigh.
"D.O and I could share the sofa." Baekhyun suggests.
"That's fine. So, Chanyeol and Kai, you can share the airbed, okay?"
"Where will you sleep?" Chanyeol asks, looking around for potential beds. You don't have any ideas.
"I'll be fine with the floor. I can just pile up some blankets and cushions." It still doesn't sound very comfortable, but it could be worse. Chanyeol however, is not convinced.
"No, I can't just let you sleep on the floor whilst I have an airbed." You're flattered by his kindness, but switching meant that you'd be sharing with Kai. Kai seems to notice your flustered expression.
"I'll sleep on the floor if you want." He suggests.
"Kai, you shouldn't have to-"
"No, you guys have done the most work today, you deserve a bed. I'll take the floor." The switch hasn't exactly changed your situation. Now instead of sleeping next to Kai, you'll be sleeping next to Chanyeol.
