"I guess I should go apologize to her..." I grumbled as I got out of my seat to stretch. "I hope she's not too mad..." I yawned exiting the classroom.

"Damn, my back is killing me. Now I know never to fall asleep in a desk..." I complained as I wandered through the empty halls looking for Rita. "What're you still doing here?" Someone asked. I turned and saw my buddy Neal. He was always like a brother to me ever since we met on the first day of Highschool. He had shaggy blonde hair while his biggest traits were his massive sunglasses he never took off and a humour to match. He was an all around good friend to have. "Nothing really, just looking for Rita." I replied giving him a high five like we usually did. "She ran off? Aren't you guys like really close? You must of pissed her off pretty bad, huh?" He laughed. "Yeah, but nothing I can't fix." I assured patting him on the shoulder. "Then I leave it in your hands. Just don't mess up, everyone's waiting for you guys to become official." Neal yawned putting his hands in his pocket. "W-what do you mean by everyone?" I blurted. "Seriously...? Never mind, just go find that girl." He said heading in the opposite direction. I sighed and continued my search.

Finally, I saw her through a window sitting under the huge oak tree in our school yard, alone. "This is perfect..." I chuckled while sprinting towards the exit to our field.

"What do you want?" Rita growled with her knees to her chest. " I came... To say that I'm sorry." I replied as I tried to catch my breath. "Why? I shouldn't have fell for that in the first place..." She sighed planting her face into her knees. "Well I can't blame you. I am exceptionally charming after all." I laughed sitting down next to her. "What ever... It was too good to be true anyways" Rita giggled quietly. "What?" I asked not hearing her. "Nothing." She whispered looking up from her knees.

"So Rita, when were you planning on telling me you liked me?" I yawned while laying down on the grass next to her. "What makes you think that?" She mumbled. "Frankly, that was just a guess. But I was right wasn't I?" I smiled sitting up and glancing at her. The girl sighed and gave a tiny smile. "Yeah." The blonde answered blushing a little. For real?" I grinned. She nodded quickly looking away. "Damn...I'm flattered." I stated. "You think it could work?" Rita said quietly scooting closer to me. "I dunno..." I muttered rubbing the back of my neck. "W-what am I even thinking? We're just childhood friends... You could probably do better anyways." Rita murmured. "You and I both know you're the best I'm gonna get!" I defended trying to keep the atmosphere light. "Then why won't you let us happen? Everyone probably thinks we're dating anyway." Rita tried to reason. "I... I just don't want to risk our friendship." I answered. "We won't be risking our friendship! I-if we start dating thw time we spend together will mean more!" The girl objected standing up. "But what if it doesnt work out?" I questioned standing up too. "We'll never know if we don't try." She responded sternly. "I guess..." I shrugged. "W-what does that mean? Are you interested in me or not?" Rita asked crossing her arms. "Just come here." I ordered blushing a bit. "What-" I cut her off by hugging her. At first, Rita was surprised, but then she wrapped her arms around me. I held her until she gently pushed away...
