To be honest, New York is an awesome place. But not more me. I never liked crowded places.

Cole seems to like it though. He is continuing his studies abroad , he has the best job and he is also socializing

Me? Oh , I'm just eating and sleeping. And the vacancy that Chloe said about, wasn't available. So I just stay at home all day

I'm alone most of the time , with nothing interesting to do

So today, I decided to visit a gynecologist , you know , to check up on the baby and maybe find it's gender

Cole is at work so I'm going alone. Plus, even though finding the gender of the baby is a big moment, I would prefer it to be alone . I don't know why. Don't judge

I walk to the doctor's office , which is conveniently close to where I live so it's actually cool.

I get in the building the climb the stairs until I'm in the doctor's floor. I knock the door once and wait for his assistant to open the door

And instead of the assistant, Martin, the guy I met on the airplane , opens the door

"Violet? I really didn't expect to see you again, especially here" Martin says , followed with a small laugh

"You never know " I say sand Martin looks at my belly

"Oh so you're pregnant" Martin says

"Yeah. Can I see the doctor or someone?" I ask him

He opens the door more so I can get. He goes into a room , probably to notify the doctor that I'm here. I really didn't expect to see Martin here. Like , what is he even doing here?

"You can come in" the doctor says . I take my bag and get into the room. Martin leaves the room as soon as I enter it. I guess I will see him later

I sit on a chair and wait for the doctor to say something. I'm not good at being sociable.

" So , I guess you are here to check on your pregnancy?" He asks me

"Yeah, that's the purpose of my visit" I say , pretty serious

Doctor's jokes are the worse jokes. Their jokes aren't even jokes

"Okay, go sit there and lift your shirt a little" The doctor says , pointing to a chair , across the room , near a few machineries

I do so and the doctor applies a cold blue gel on my belly and afterwards, he starts ' scanning ' it with a another machinery

Don't judge , I don't know all the tools used for this procession

I wait a few seconds until the form of a fetus appears on the screen. That's my baby. I'm gonna cry

"That's your baby. It's about 17 weeks old , 4 months old. Do you wanna heart its heartbeat?" The doctor asks me and I just nod

And that's my baby's heartbeat. Like , how can something sound is beautiful and weird at the same time?

"This is amazing" I say , just looking at the screen

"I'm gonna print you that so you can have it. You just have to eat healthier and exercise" the doctor says and I nod again

But wait, I'm 4 months old , so practically , we can see the baby's gender

"Do we know the baby's gender?" I ask the doctor as he prints the first photos of the fetus

He looks at me and he says yes , with a smile

I'm gonna know whether my baby is a boy or a girl in a few seconds. I wish Shawn was here
