Cole puts the key into the ignition and reverses the car out of the parking lot. The GPS is on and Sky connects her phone to the car's Bluetooth and a song starts playing.
"I can't actually believe that I'm wasting my time to see her" Cole nags
"I spent my money to come here and see her" I say, matter-of-fact
"Can you please shut up?" Sky asks, clearly irritated
"No we can't Sky. Why don't you drive? Oh I forgot. You failed your driving test. I guess you will get your driving license when SpongeBob does" Cole snaps
Sky sits back in her seat, scrolling through her social media. She doesn't like drama. On the other hand, if you search images of a drama queen, a photo of Cole will pop up on your screen.
A few minutes later, the GPS informs us that we are reached our destination. I get out of the car and Sky seems to be happy that we are going to meet mom; while Cole seems like he wants to get back home
"If she starts getting into my nerves, I'm going home" Cole says, locking his car
Sky ignores him and just walks towards the coffee shop. She checks her phone , since probably she got a notification or something and then checks around the place. There's a blonde woman waving at us, which I assume it's mom. Yep , it's her. Sky goes over and hugs her.
"Don't even" Cole says, sitting down on the chair when mom tries to hug him
I give her a small hug. I don't want her to think that I'm weird.
We sit down and order a cup of coffee ; Cole of course orders tea.
"So, how are you guys?" Mom asks, putting a big smile on her face
I can't tell if it's fake or not. I don't know, it seems like I'm talking to a stranger. Yet, she is acting so cool
"Do you even care ?" Cole asks her. He sure is irked.
"Of course I care. You are my kids" Mom says, acting like she's hurt
"Yeah okay" Cole says, rolling his eyes and taking a sip from his tea
He looks like a meme.
"Okay, so where's my grandson?" Mom asks, and Cole nearly chokes on his tea. I'm sure she has already gotten into Cole's nerves.
I lightly kick him, motioning him to calm down and act cooler.
"He is with his dad" I say, giving her a smile.
"That's wonderful. I guess you're here, trying to find a new lover and have another baby right? " Mom says.
I feel like cheeks burning and turning into a light red colour; I don't know if it's from anger or embarrassed
"Actually you're describing yourself mom. You are the one who left us to just go and marry another guy and have babies with him. Why are you even here? Where did you find our phone numbers?" Cole asks her, keeping his voice low, not wanting to cause any troubles
"Can you calm down? I saw Sky the other days and she gave me her,yours and Violet's phone number. " Mom explains. Cole balls his fists, trying to control his anger
"You gave her our phone numbers ? Why?" I ask Sky, clearly irritated.
"Because she is our mom. She left us ,yes. She cheated on dad, yes. But, I think that we should all love each other. We should be a loving family, right?" Sky says and Cole stands up and I do the same
He just walks out of the coffee shop, without saying anything. She surely did get into his nerves. I pay for our drinks and without saying anything as well, I make my way out of the coffee shop. Cole is waiting for me in the car. I get in and a few moments later , he starts driving.
Everything is just so messed.
