"My parents got divorced when I was like 6 or so. They told us that they ' didn't get along anymore ' and that they still love each other and us and other shitty things. Mom just left one day, without even saying a word. She used to send us cards and gifts but after a while, she stopped doing that. " I say, taking a deep breath before going on with my story

"I don't know if she got married again or had kids. I basically haven't talked to her since I was 6. Maybe older. I don't know how she found my number or where she found the nerve to call me, after not talking to me for all these years. I know, I'm a bad person too since I didn't tell you about my pregnancy. I regret it. But I consider myself a better version of her" I say, pulling my jacket tighter around me

Shawn says nothing,just looks at me. I don't really like talking about my mother. But when I do talk about her, I feel like someone just punched me. It's a weird feeling.

I'm thinking of calling Cole or Sky. Then again, I'm sure they would call me if mom happened to call them first. My next option is dad but I'm positive that he wouldn't give my number to her. Or even pick up the phone

"I still can't believe I have a son to be honest. But you know what? You are nothing like your mom. " Shawn says , making feel kind of better

"The real question is how the hell does she know that I'm mom? " I question as nothing makes sense

"When I gave my mom her gift previously, I forgot to give you yours. Happy mother's Day" Shawn says , pulling out of his pocket a rectangular shaped box

He hands to me and I open it as soon as I get it. It's a necklace , with a ' Next top mother ' logo on it. I can't help but smile at how cute this necklace is. And it's actually something different.

"This is beautiful. Thank you" I say, giving Shawn a warm smile.

Shawn is about to say something when my phone starts buzzing again. I guess I'm extra popular tonight. And it's Cole messaging me about something which must be urgent and important since my phone is buzzing like crazy

I swipe across the screen to read the messages and I'm almost positive that he is drunk. Or just angry. Both are possibilities.

I decide to call him since I can't really understand what he is trying to tell me. It looks as if a kindergarten kid is messaging me

"First of all, happy mother's day kiddo" Cole says as soon as he picks up the phone

"Thanks. So , what are all those messages about?"

"When are you coming back from Canada?"

"Um, I don't know. Why?"

"I don't want you to freak out or something because I know that you having a good time but mom called me and Sky. I don't know where she found our numbers but-"

"Relax. I know. She called previously and told me a happy mother's day."

"What? Okay, okay. Sky had the temper to talk to her and not hang up as I did. I guess you did the same as me. She said that she will be in NYC in about a week and she wants to meet up with us. "

"You must be kidding me right? Are we actually going to meet her?"

"I don't know. Sky wants to meet her while I don't give a fuck. It's all up to you. Anyways, I have to go now. I will call you tomorrow" Cole says before I press the big red button and end the call

I was in a really good mood a few minutes ago. And now, my good mood is lost in Japan.

"I guess I should book a flight to New York" I say, standing up from the chair and Shawn does the same

Shawn reaches to hold my hand but I just pull it away and shove it into my jacket's pockets. Sometimes, I'm really stupid.

We get back inside and sit on the living room with Shawn's parents and watch a comedy.

But my minds is racing right now
