I thought nothing could surprise me more than meeting the god-like man when I was two days old and learnt how to use magic.

But just a day after that, I learnt something even more shocking.

"Emi, Lea, come here. Lunch is ready."
Halena called us.

"Coming." we answered together.

Yeah, that's our name. My name's Lea.
And my twin's Emi.

The shocking thing was, I learnt that we are a girl!

Even now, after three years have passed since then, I still find it hard to swallow.

Emi ran to the kitchen. Just as usual, she have more control over our body.

Halena is scooping rice onto the plates.

The chair are very big compared to our three year old body. The seat is about the height of our shoulders. But we climb it with ease without any help.

Strengthening magic sure is handy.

To tell the truth, using strengthening magic, we could already walk at the age of three weeks but I never showed it to neither Halena nor Kabil.

The memory of Halena fainting after seeing us floating in the air still vivid in my mind. Although walking cannot really be compared to floating in the air, I just don't want to risk that happening again.

Today's meal is rice and dried fish. And just as usual, it's just the two and a half of us.

Kabil is out hunting. He almost never at home.

I look up at Halena's face. She looks pale. Tired. Exhausted. She makes me worried.

For a while now I have been using healing magic on her at night when she's asleep. But looks like that didn't help much. I need to get better at healing magic.

"Mom. Is dad coming back today?" Emi asked.

"Yes, he will be back by sunset." She replied slowly while mustering a weak smile.

Emi's face shine with excitement. Not for me though.

Kabil haven't come back home for almost a week now. He has been out on a hunting trip with other villagers to prepare for the incoming winter.

We eat quickly. Pecking at the food with our right hand. Halena taught us to eat only with our right hand. It's an etiquette for eating.

Having two heads to feed, our right hand doesn't have time to rest at all during meal.

We still eats a portion for one kid, as we only have one stomach. But since we have two mouth to chew the foods, we take less time to finish.

"We done." Emi said.

Halena look at the dishes. We did not touch the veggies at all. She shot us a glance.

Oh, yeah. There's also veggies.

"You have to eat vegetables too or you won't grow big and healthy." Halena said.

Too late.

Emi already jumped down from the chair and ran towards our room.

Thanks to the strengthening magic I cast the moment she jumped down our little legs doesn't buckled under the load.

"Wipe your hands first!" Halena yelled. Her voice weak and parched. A sign of her poor health.

"Okay." I replied.

After wiping our hand on a piece of rag, Emi walked us back to our room.

She climbed on our bed and pick up her doll, which was made from parchments of extra clothes, leathers and bits of cotton before lying down on our back while hugging it.
