"Hey, the story last night.. It's the legend of Emilea wasn't it?" Jing, the guy guarding us ask, breaking the silence as he lead us down the stairs.

"...Yes... were you eavesdropping on us?" I replied after a short pause.

"Yeah right... Were you actually from another kingdom?" He ask us again, brushing my question aside.

How does the two questions even relate?

"We.. " I was about to answer him carelessly but stopped when Emi suddenly slowed down our walking pace and put more distance between us and Jing. She's scared of him.

Thanks to Emi, I didn't foolishly give information to the enemy. Yeah, I must not forgot that they're enemy! Considering that he ask that, I think it's safe to assume they didn't know where we came from. But the slavers should know. And why is he asking that?

"..Why?" No point in thinking too much. Since he's asking us questions, I'll ask him back too.

"Well, your story was different, or rather, it's incomplete. Everyone in this kingdom know the full story. So I thought you might came from a faraway land. Or did you forgot the story?" He probe again.

"Le..Lea's story is just like mom's! It'ch not wrong!" Emi bravely defended me. Her voice is shaking and she's stumbling on her words.

Aww, and, Crap. I stayed silent as to not give any hint whatsoever. Never would I expect Emi to speak up since she's really afraid of strangers.

"Oh.." Jing look surprised. " Well, your accent are that of this kingdom... So how come..."

He stared at Emi for a while and Emi quickly return her gaze to our feet, scared. He went quiet, thinking about something. We continue walking down the stairs.

Going down is not much of a challenge for us, but when we go down, we will have to go up again sooner or later. And I'm really not looking forward to climb five floor of stairs up.

We are almost at the ground floor. The stair is at the inner wall of the big hall, opposite to the front door. The mage guy, the guy that move the horseless carriage last time is waiting for us by the door. I think Jing called him Kanan.

"Ah! I know! Your mom must've cut out those parts." He exclaimed loudly while grinning mischievously at us. "Hey wanna hear the full story?"

What? Did he just nonchalantly tell us our mom is hiding something from us? That's... quite.. possible... But even if that's true, just like not allowing us to go outside, mom must have done it to protect us. She must have a good reason to cut the story.

"No!" I said firmly, declining his offer.

"Why?" Jing and Emi ask simultaneously. They both turn and look at each other awkwardly for a second before once again Emi's eyes return to the floor.

"If mom didn't tell us, it must be something bad." I said, more as an explanation for Emi than an answer for Jing.

Again, a mischievous smile creep across Jing's face but he say nothing and continue walking. He lead the way toward yesterday's room, oblivious to the waiting Kanan.

"Hey idiot! Over here." Kanan called in an annoyed voice. "Can you be any slower?"

"Eh? Aren't we meeting the Pope? Psst, walk faster. He's scary when he's angry." Jing said while hastening his pace.

"That holy shit still not back yet. Master doesn't want to waste time here. Let's go."

Eh? We are moving again? I'm tired of riding carriage that I'd rather climb the stairs back to the fifth floor than ride another carriage. But being a slave, what choice do we have.

There's only our carriage outside. Surrounding the carriage are a dozen armed men on horses. They're equipped with light armor, a sword on their hip and a spear in their hand.

What the actual f*ck! Why are the security become heavier when we are already in the safety of the city's wall?

Kanan mounted a horse at the front most. Jing herd us into the carriage, lock the door and climb on the driver seat. I look around, but the other four carriage is nowhere to be seen. Nina, Kal, where are they? Will we meet those kids again?

The carriage move away from the city wall, towards the inner city. The tall wall behind us become smaller and smaller as we move deeper into the city. The building becomes taller and better looking too. The people on the road also gradually dress better.

Then, above and beyond the tall buildings, I saw a towering structure made of white stone. It's a castle! The castle is still quite a fair distance away but it's sheer size and brilliance makes it hard to miss.

"Lea! Lea! Look!" Emi pointed at the structure that I'm already have my eyes on. Her excitement is evident. A big, magnificent castle in the frontier capital, Emi must've the same idea as me.

"It's the demon's castle right? Right?" She's basically shooting lazer beams out of her eyes right now.

"Yeah, it must be." I replied with a smile and pulled an excited kid face for her. It's been a while since she last had a smile on her face.

The demon castle. It was where the Savior fought the demons to rescue the captured villagers in the story. But the story said it happen five thousand years ago. I wonder if a castle from five thousand years ago can still look as beautiful as this.

While we are busy looking at the faraway castle, the carriage came to a stop. We stopped in front of the gate of a big mansion. It's not as big as the cathedral, but still way bigger than our house. The gate opened and the carriage went inside.

The carriage stopped right in front of the mansion. The mansion's door opened and a group of maids came out. Jing opened the door and we step out of the carriage.

I look around. All eyes are on us. They all looks like they have a thing or two bad things to say about us but they all remain stoic.

"Follow them, they will take care of you." Jing said.

"And by the way about the story, what your mom didn't tell you was that the Savior is similar to you guys." He whispered into our ears and shove us towards the maid.

What? I turn my head to look at him. He have that mischievous smile again. But before I could ask what he mean by that, one of the maids pulled us into the mansion and closed the door.

"Huh? He's idiot! We already know that. Our name are the same as the Savior." Emi grumbled, disappointed with what she hear.

"Yeah..." I replied to Emi.

But I know, that's not what Jing meant. But can I believe his words? Was the Savior really like us?
