31.5 : Priscilla side story

Morning has arrive after a long, cold night. The sun shine it's warm ray from beyond the snowy mountains onto a small town.

The adults began to wake up and preparing for another day. The farmers pick up their tools and went to their fields. The hunters wraps up their supplies and wander in the thick jungle. While the kids... continue to sleep comfortably in their warm bed. It's just another day for them.

Except for one small family of young parents and child. They're all awake, even the child. Yet the father, who hunts for a living, is still in the village, donning a nicer garment than one would wear for hunting.

Today is not just another day for this young family. They're at the town's gate, waiting for certain caravan. The young couple are bringing their little girl to visit her grandparents who's living in a village quite a distant away.

Their little girl is especially eager, for this is going to be her first time travelling outside of the town.

Not long after the sunrise, the caravans arrive.

"Mommy, look! It's here! It's here!" The child exclaimed excitedly at the sight of the convoy of caravans.

The caravans belongs to a merchant, who travels to nearby villages for their business. They also provide transportation service if there's room in their caravan.

While the merchant deal with the gatekeeper, the passengers gets into the designated caravan. There's only one other passenger aside from them. A total stranger.

It's rare to not know a person since they live in a small town. But he might be visiting someone in this town.

Once everything is settled, the caravan roll out.

Right outside the gate is an expense of fields. Townspeople, regardless of men or women, is handling livestock, plowing the land and doing other labor work.

Not many people travels, as they live day to day. And it's even less at this time of the year, as it is the planting season. Even men with other works will put their work aside for a few week to help out on the field.

But that's exactly why the father choose this timing to visit. To help out his parents a bit.

Normally they won't be able to, as they also need to be on the field. It is by a stroke of luck that a rich noble pass through their small town, and the father got the opportunity to work for them.

And by an amazing coincidence, the noble have a favorable impression of him because they look alike. The nobleman said its as if he's looking at a younger version of himself.

Thus, the father had earned himself a good amount of money enough to not worry about their belly for a few years.

Thus, they're going to visit their parents, to share this joyous moment.

Alas, life is not all rainbow. the caravan were attacked by bandits. The men were murdered. The women were...

The bandits took everything of value.

The little girl saw her father put up a fight, trying buying time for his beloved family to escape.

But his effort were too little, and the bandits are too much for him to handle. His head fell right in front of his daughter's watching eyes.

Then her mother were dragged away from her, and the little girl herself were thrown into a cage.

The little girl went into shock, for her whole world is no more.

She close herself off from outside world, neither eating nor drinking. Before long, she become so weak from starvation that she thought she's going to die.

Suddenly mouthful of water found its way into her mouth, which she gratefully gulp down.

For the first time in a while, she pay attention to those around her. A girl a bit older than herself is holding a bag of water, feeding her the water from the container with concern.

Everything else was an incomprehensible blur to her, apart from the occasional chewed food and water finding it's way into her little mouth on its own.

The little girl slowly regain her health. 

But then she saw something horrifying. There's a demon in the same dark wagon as her!

The demon is about as big as the other kids around her, but it have two heads! Everyone stay away from the demon, afraid of it. The little girl is scared too, so scared she's unable to speak.

It was tense and scary. Time went by and without her knowing why, everyone is fighting the demon, and lost miserably.

Blood and poop were everywhere. The wagon even end up on its side.

The scared little girl become even more scared. But her impression soon change for the better.

The demon girl beat the bad guys who lock them up. Everyone escape from the bad guys. The little girl followed them to the best of her ability.

But she is the youngest, smallest, and the weakest. She is too slow to keep up.

before long, the faster boys were nowhere to be seen, leaving her behind. But the demon girl stayed with her, worry about her.

Soon, the bad guys caught up to them, and the world spiral out of her mind.

The next thing the little girl see is the roof of the dark wagon.

The next thing that stick in her memory is the sight of the demon girl screaming painfully as the bad guy burn its back with a glowing rod, and she is next.

The next thing she know, she is on a soft, big bed, in a pretty, big room. Everything that happened before feels like a bad dream.

Later, a man and a woman enters the room.

She almost call them mom and dad, but she quickly realized that they're not.

They look similar to her parents, especially the woman, but she know they're not.

The man and woman introduce themselves and explain to the little girl her situation.

They save her from the slavery, and they are adopting her as their own child. The couple have no child of their own, and they treat her not as a slave, but as one of their own. they even get a healer to erase the slave mark on her little back.

After what she have been through, she can't be happier with how it turns out for her.
