I was imagining that Bear want to sacrifice us to a two headed dragon. And that now we are on the way to the dragon nest. To be eaten by the dragon. Then it appears in my sight.

Not the dragon, I was just imagining it...

It's a city. A very big one. The travel from the last town to this one took about three or four days, I think. Maybe.

I tried to keep track of how long we have travelled so that it will be a bit easier for us to find our way home after escaping. But after those horrible nights spent listening to the slaves' voices when they're being used, together with my own negative mind, counting the days is not really that high on my priority list.

"We need to escape, as soon as possible!"

That's all that's going around in my head as I look around attentively. Now that I pay attention to our surrounding, I realize how sturdy this carriage of ours is. It feels like riding in an armoured vehicle that banks use to transport money to their ATMs.

We tried strengthening our body with magic to the max and kick the wall as hard as we can, but the only thing we get from that were a stare from An and Jing and a painful throbbing in our leg. There's not even a dent nor a scratch. Basically, zero chance of busting our way out.

Next, our two guards. Their face is very similar that it'll be weird if they're not sibling. They call each other An and Jing respectively. An seems to be a bit older and way smarter while Jing is the younger one and is way louder. Anyway, chance of tricking An into releasing us, zero. He's smart enough not to fall for cheap tricks. As for Jing, tricking him should be easy, if not for the fact that he always ask his big brother before anything. Sigh.

The surroundings started to become noisy. There's a long line of carriages on the road ahead of us, queuing to get inside the city. Sounds of people talking, with occasional shoutings filled the air. Most of the carriages are not pulled by horses, but by a big and woolly animal that looks like a big fat reindeer. Just imagine a fat polar bear with a reindeer head and thicker coat than a lost sheep. We probably could hide in its fur and nobody will be able to find us, ever.

Our group of carriages ignore the long ass queue and cut the line straight to the front. Everyone gave us a glance but they did not say anything after seeing the crest on our carriages. Looks like Bear have some powerful backing.

Me and Emi peek through the window at the people in their carriages. There's an old man who locked eyes with us. He look annoyed that our carriages cut through the que, but he gave us a smile when he sees us. That's a first for us. We have locked eyes with thousands pair of eyes while staying at the slavery and none of them smile at us. From that old man's perspective, we must've look like two innocent little kids looking around excitedly for the first time. I wonder if he still would smile at us if he know that this two innocent little girls share a body. Probably not... Heck, he might sacrifice us himself.

No! Stop being so negative! Pay attention to the surrounding! I remind myself. I shift my gaze to the front.

"What the..." I blurted out.

Seeing this city up close put me in awe. The city have been in view for a while, but I haven't pay much attention to it. There's a huge river just outside the wall. And they have dug a canal surrounding the city wall. Ships and boats fills the waterway. We ride across a bridge towards the gate.

Now we are right by the wall, and it is gigantic! I can't tell exactly how high it is, but it must be at least as high as a twenty storey building. And the wall is made of huge blocks of stone bigger than our house each.

The gatekeeper smile at us while holding his hands in a cross shape against his chest. Looks like a form of salute. While other people need to go through a strict inspection, they let our carriages through the gate without stopping us at all.

"Welcome to Frontier fort!" Jing said after seeing the awe in our eyes.

"What? Frontier fort?" Did I hear it wrong?

Frontier fort is the royal capital of our kingdom, The Northern Frontier. And it is one of seven great city in the legend of the seven savior.

Mom says that it was built around five thousands years ago by one of the seven saviors. And more importantly, it's more than a thousand kilometers away from our village!

One thousand kilometers!

Whooosh...  There goes every remaining bits of lingering hope I have of getting back home... How in hell are a two headed five year old girl going to travel that far alone?
