Y/N's POV

It was a quiet night. At least, it would be soon. Bucky had somehow managed to convince all the Avengers to get out of the Tower for a few hours, to explore the city and all of its festivities during Christmas. All except for one. Bucky and I needed a night alone, and that was exactly what we were going to get. My hand intertwined with his metal one as the elevator shut to take the loud group of our friends down to leave the Tower.

"Finally... we'll have a few hours of silence." He sighed in contentment

"I'm still in awe at the fact that you managed to pull Bruce away from his lab, and Tony from his technology." I smiled as I looked up at him.

"You know me." He winked as he looked down at me. "I have my ways." He turned and began to pull me towards the kitchen.

"Are you still hungry, Mr. Barnes?" I laughed, checking my watch. "It's nine thirty, and we only had dinner an hour ago."

"No... but I did want to get something. I have a little surprise for you."

"Oooh. A surprise. What is it?"

"It wouldn't be much of a surprise if I told you, now would it?" Bucky chuckled, and I rolled my eyes.

"I suppose you're right."

"As always." He winked, before pulling me to a stop. "Stay here, and close your eyes. I will be right back. I won't pull any stupid pranks, I promise."

"You better not." I muttered, but complying with his requests, closing my eyes and staying where he left me. A few moments later, soft music began to play in the background, and a smile turned up the corners of my lips as I recognized the beginning to "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby. A cold hand gently touched my waist and I jumped slightly.

"Sorry." I heard my boyfriend of two years chuckle. "You can open your eyes now." My eyes flashed open, and immediately I began to giggle. On top of his head, he wore a head band, with pieces of mistletoe covering it. He flashed a grin, revealing his perfectly straight teeth as he watched me laugh. "Surprised?"

"Very surprised. I love it."

"Good." He smiled before starting to lean in to kiss me, his eyes fluttering shut. I took a step back, dodging his kiss at the last second. A small wine escaped his lips, but I put my finger up to his lips.

"Come on. Dance with me!"

"Is my reward a kiss?" Bucky smirked, and winked at me.

"Your reward is getting to be my boyfriend, and not sleeping on the couch tonight. Now come here."

"Damn. You're colder than Jack Frost himself."

"Shut up." I laughed, before I grabbed his hand and pulled him close to me. "Come on, please? I'll love you forever, if you only dance with me this once."

"I thought you already did." Bucky feigned hurt, and I sighed.

"I'll give you a kiss, if you do it."

"You had me at kiss, Doll."

"Of course I did."

He pulled me in close, and we danced slowly to the music, my arms wrapped around his neck while his wrapped around my waist. Our eyes stayed locked on each others as we continued to sway. I began to feel the mood begin to shift, and I did not mind at all.

"I'm so in love with you." Bucky whispered, and I felt my cheeks immediately begin to turn red, a small bashful smile turning up the corners of my lips. "You know that, right?"

"Now I do." I giggle, and he rolled his eyes playfully. "I love you too, James Barnes. Always have, always will."

"Good." His lips leaned down towards mine and I closed my eyes, anticipating the feeling of his against mine. But all I could feel was his warm breath. "Keep those gorgeous eyes shut for one more moment, doll. I promise it will be worth it."

"What's the surprise this time?" I laugh, but kept my eyes shut. "Are you gonna be dressed up as Olaf from Frozen?" Bucky did not respond, but I heard shuffling and I heard him take a deep breath. "Buck?"

"You can open your eyes now, doll."

My eyes flashed open, and they turned to see Bucky knelt down on one knee, his blue eyes filled with nervousness. My breath left my lungs as I watched him pull out a box, and open the lid to reveal a beautiful diamond ring.

"Y/N Y/M/N Y/L/N... you were one of the first people other than Steve to see me as me, instead of the Winter Soldier or just simply a crazy assassin who couldn't be stopped. And the moment that you talked to me, I knew I was already crazy for you. In these two years, I've gotten the pleasure to love you, and be there for you when you needed me most, and if you want me to... I would love to be yours for the rest of our lives. Y/N... will you marry me?"

"Y-Yes." I whispered breathlessly, and Bucky's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree.

"Really?"

"Of course." I laughed softly, and he grinned as he pulled the ring out of the box and slid it onto my left ring finger gently. He stood up in front of me once again.

"You can kiss me now. Only if you want to though." He winked.

"Come here, you mistletoe-covered weirdo." I moved closer and kissed him passionately. His lips moved in sync with mine, until muted cheers could be heard. I froze, and pulled away to look at the elevator doors in time to see them open and reveal the rest of the Avengers.

"Why am I not surprised?" I giggled.

"All part of the plan, doll." Bucky winked, before kissing me once more as the whistles began. Oh, how much fun the wedding planning would be.
