Chinmayi's POV:
"I'll go to the hospital...", I whisperingly spoke.
This was my decision after overhearing to their conversation.
Well, you might ask me how did I end up here. Badi-Ma and Ma had packed clothes and food for everyone in the hospital and asked me to give it to Charan. That's when I heard about Charan's exam, his readiness to leave that and go to the hospital, Megha convincing Charan explaining the importance of tomorrow's exam and her decision of doing Charan's duty on behalf of him. She's definitely the right girl for him and of course my family.
But really, right now, Charan needs Megha more, he's emotionally broken and she's his strength. As much as Bhai and Bhabhi need him in the hospital, this is at the cost of sabotaging his career. Tomorrow's exam is important for him and the only person who can convince, console and be a pillar of strength and support is, my best friend, Megha.
Two pairs of shocked eyes stared at me.
"Chin-Chinnu, when did you come here?"
"When Megha was talking about your exam, Charan."
"Bu-but Chinnu-"
"No Charan, Megha is right, tomorrow is an important day for you. Don't let this affect you. We're all there na. Bhai has pampered me the most. Bhai is my love. The relationship between me and you is like Tom and Jerry. But, with Bhai, it's love, love and love only Charan. I've been pampered more than anyone else. It's my duty now Charan. "
These words were from my heart. Bhai is Bhai!
The most amazing person...
Tears filled my eyes and for that Megha came and hugged me. Releasing her from my arms after the warm hug,
"And you-" I stared at her, you owe me a lot of explanations. But, right now, please be with Charan, Megha."
More tears befriended me and I held both her hands tightly.
"Hey, don't worry Chinnu", Megha pulled me into another hug to console me and she also started tearing up.
"But Chinnu-", Charan looked at me sadly, " You are allergic to hospital aura an-"
"Charan, now it is important for me to stay strong integrating all the energy I have. Haven't Bhai always told us that fear is all made up by weak minds? And today, I will follow his words for him. You don't worry..."
Listening to my words...he hugged both Megha and me..
"Hey, enough enough. " I joked.
"I'll leave now. Take care both of you."

Convincing my family was the biggest task. But, I explained firmly that Chachu and ma are required at home to take care of Badi ma, daada and daadi. Akhila is still a small girl, I mean, younger to me. But, Papaji strictly told me that he is accompanying me.
In half an hour's time, we reached the hospital. The first breeze filled my nostrils with the hospital scent and for a few seconds I started feeling giddy, but somehow, gravity helped me to conglomerate all the energy in me to face this.
" Vivek and Diya Sharma? ", Papaji asked the receptionist.
" The accident case sir? ", she asked heartlessly as I saw him stiffen with anger beside me.
" Yes ma'am, and they are people with feelings and heart, not a case." I replied politely.
She guiltily looked into her monitor and guided us with the directions.
Veera and Chaachi was sitting in the visitor's area. They were tired, pale and their eyes were puffed with crying. Their clothes were stained and they looked miserable. As soon as Veera saw me, she stood up and ran towards me and pulled me towards the emergency room.
The room was locked from inside and we could only peep through the round piece of plain and transparent glass by pressing our faces onto it.
" Look Chinnu, look at Diya- Look what happened to her. Look at my best friend lying.
The doctors and nurses aren't even letting us go near her.Oh Chinnu, you should have seen her before they took her into this room...
Oh, no-no- thank God you didn't. You know it was all my fault; I shouldn't have got that Germany opportunity. I should not have taken- I should have convinced Charan.
Bhai wouldn't have got excited to come and see me; he would have been happy in Paris with her- with my best friend- she's now there, more dead than alive. What will I tell her parents? ", Veera blabbered her heart out.
The sight was horrifying:
Too many machines...
Drips...
Wires..
And that too, on my Bhabhi...
Tears pooled my eyes and heaviness burdened my chest. Veera was already crying and both of us hugged each other tightly and ugly silence encompassed us.
The most affected person, definitely was Veera, her dearest brother, her sister-in- law cum best friend were traveling back, dissolving their honeymoon for their precious Veera.
She was the calmest person in our whole family and today, the incident had shocked her out of all her sanity. She was so lost and completely drained.Chaachi came to us and consoled.
" Aap dono chinta math karo, beti. Krishna Bhagwan hai na. "
All of us walked back to the Visitor's area. I requested them to have dinner and both of them refused.
"Chaachi, Veera, Dekhiye, Kaana manaa karne se Bhai aur Bhabhi teek nahi honge. Aur aap log bhi bahut kamzor dikh rahi hai. Please Chaachi, aap khaao na... aur thum bhi Veera. Chinta math karo.
Ye lijiye kapde, aap bhadalkar aayiye aur mein khaana parosthi hun... manaa math kijiye.", I literally begged them.
All of us sat down for dinner and I served the chappathi and daal prepared by ma. That was when I realized that Bade-papa, Anirudh and Papaji were missing.. and I still haven't seen Bhai...
"Where's Bhai? I want to see him. And where's everone else? Why aren't they here..."
"Chinmayi, Vivek has lost a lot of blood and they've gone to arrange for it. You don't panic, okay?
Don't worry, they will come soon. Dr. Joshi is a very famous doctor and he is taking care of your Bhai and Bhabhi."
I was slowly digesting what Chaachi was telling.
I heard heavy footsteps walking towards us. Papaji, Bade-papa and Anirudh were looking extremely worn-out from all the running in the hospital. Anirudh's shirt looked the shabbiest, drenched in sweat. But, their faces were pecked with a tinge of bliss.
Breaking the curiosity killing silence, Anirudh said, " Bhai's condition has become stable. He is out of danger. But, he must be kept in observation for 3 more days and Ortho doctor suggested by Dr. Joshi will be visiting Bhai tomorrow... "
These words rained honey in our pain burning hearts.
" Hare Krishna....", exclaimed Chaachi.
"Aur Diya? Diya kaisi hai, Papa?"
" Dr. Eeshwar Joshi, i.e., Dr. Joshi's first son, is treating our bahu. I just spoke to him and he said that a small treatment has to be done to her injuries in the head. There is nothing to fear about; she will gain consciousness by midnight probably." said Bade-papa with sorrow clouding his eyes.
Silence fell once again amidst the Sharma's.
