Charan's POV:
Looking at your life look lifeless is probably the worst thing that a man could even ask for. This is like living a nightmare, and it is real, it has happened and there is no door to escape from it.
I should have been there and it should have been me, who should have bourne all of this.
This thought just kept coming over and over to me. I know there is more to what happened in my absence and I promised myself that I am never going to let her stay in that house even for a second.
Today is her birthday.
Today is the most amazing and memorable day that she should have had. Her hair should have been adorned with a red rose and that should not be her face's colour.
It's not my Megha's blush.
Even in my arms, she fell like a wilted flower, silently screaming for one drop of water... As I heard the footsteps of Megha's father, he ironically welcomed me warmly! My blood boiled and I was almost in the verge of losing my anger.
HE MAY BE HER FATHER, BUT HE DOES NOT, AT ANY DAMN COST HAVE THE RIGHT TO EVEN TOUCH MY PRECIOUS MEGHA!
This unwise man is has crossed the line with the wrong person. But this man has literally been like a father figure to me, advising on how to go about business and life about it, he has seen me grow, and the hell, he was there when I spoke to everyone, why didn't he say a word, then?
How could he turn into a man who could just MANHANDLE his very own daughter?
"Daamaadh Ji, please come in, why are you standing at the doorstep itself?"
Listening to his voice, I lost my patience and now it's time that this man answers my questions. Megha, with all the strength she could conglomerate, used it to curl her fingers tightly to hold the hem of my shirt.
She was that afraid.
I put my arm around her, to ensure that I am there in her life now, and I am never ever ever going to leave her alone. Slowly we all stood up and I stared at that man, who was supposed to be my father in law, my guide and infact another father by himself, but I just, at that moment didn't even consider him as an equivalent human being!
"Shastry uncle-"
"Charan, wait-", said a commanding voice and it was my grandmother.
I totally forgot that she was in the car waiting for me to help her out of it.
I came just to call Anirudh to help me get Dhaadhi Ma out of the car, but all of this happened and it just slipped out of my mind.Maybe Dhaadhi would have wondered what would have happened that Anirudh and me didn't come to get her, and well, when she stopped me, it became evident that she was there the whole time...
"I know what you are going to speak, you afterall have the rightful Sharma blood in you Charan, but I still won't see my grandson talk to an elderly person like that. And that's why I am here for. "
There was a complete silence.
Dhaadhi continued to speak anyway.
"Shastry Ji, Megha is the prospect daughter in law of the Sharma clan. You had no right to even think of treating her like this!
If you had any problem with this alliance, you had multiple chances to share your agony with us.
Firstly, when Charan confessed about Megha to all of us. He righteously spoke up to his and your family expressing his feelings for Megha.
When my husband came asking for the hand of your daughter for our grandson, that is a clear chance for you to speak up.Secondly, when Megha requested you whether she can stay at our place to be with Chinmayi after my grand daughter's the arrangement of my granddaughters' alliance, you could have asked us then.
Thirdly, when Radha called to ask whether it is okay for us to send Charan and Megha along with my other grandkids to the Joshi's, you could have spoken up.
Fourthly, when you came to our house to have the prasad prepared specifically for our Megha's birthday, you could have taken this up with anyone.
Lastly, we are family friends from past 23 years and you could have taken it up with us at any point of time.
Megha hamaari ghar ki Lakshmi hai.
And I am nowhere near to okay that you, of all people treated my grand daughter in law, this way!"
We heard heavy footsteps approaching from the inside of the house.Megha's mother came to the doorway and looked sunken. Her eyes were swollen with all the crying and her helplessness just crawled out in every possible direction.
"Ma ji, please come inside-"
"Shastry ji, how can I enter the house where my daughter in law is treated worse than a slave? How can I enter a house where my grandson has no value or respect and is just greeted out of hypocrisy and baseless conventions?
How can I enter a house where a father mistreats his own daughter? How can I enter a house, where a mother just watches her daughter being treated like that, in silence?
Shastry ji, keeping silent during a crime is also a crime and I am not that sinful to enter such a place.I am an elderly woman for my house and have all the rights to take a decision.
I am here to take my daughter in law home.
Yes you heard me right!
From this moment onwards, Megha will stay in the Sharma Mansion and in the next muhurth, I am going to fix Meghan's and Charan's wedding. Only people with pure love and real support to their love will be invited...
Charan bring our Lakshmi home... I am going back to waiting in the car..."
