Chinmayi's POV:
Dadaji apologized earnestly to me. I really didn't know to exactly to feel at this moment.
What was his decision?
What is going through his mind?
It was seriously beyond my comprehension.
I looked at him like a lost puppy taken under his care for shelter and protection. He gently caressed my head.
"You are now a woman Chinnu and it was certainly my mistake to treat you like a kid. I should have discussed with you, from the very beginning my dear, involved you in all the discussions.
But, in my eyes, you were always that Chinnu who came running to her Dada for chocolates, stories and pocket money. My heart refused to see you grow my dear. It's all my selfishness that put you in this spot. "
"Dadaji, what are you even saying? Please don't speak such words..."
"No dear, from what everyone spoke today, there lies an underlying truth. I couldn't see my kids growing up.
Look at what I have put you and Veera through..."
He looked up to see his first granddaughter. She still looked petrified and as usual, she sat as silent as possible, accepting what her family claimed as her fate.
"She was about to turn down an offer to Germany for us... She swallowed her love for Eeshwar ji for us...
She handled everything with so much maturity, just for us and how could I even think of stopping her wedding Chinnu?"
I had no choice but to listen to his words for there is certainly no denial to that. Veera did go through her share of sacrifices, just like the rest of us.
Dadaji continued, " Look at Charan, Chinnu and to what he had to go through. I certify am aware of the fact that it's not easy for him to handle his in laws and his household problems while building his career. Look at him becoming a man Chinnu...
I know your mother sometimes gives him and Megha a hard time and that you are the only solace to that girl, but because of all these things, you are not able to spend time with your best friend and Bhabhi...
I feek responsible Chinnu... Just super responsible..."
"Dadaji no, it's not on you-"
"No Chinnu, what your Badi Ma told is absolutely right. I tried to be fair by thinking of things only in my terms.
But I am not the only one in this family. You are all a major part of it and I have neglected the very pivotal definition of what constitutes of the Sharmas.
Look at your grandmother pacifying her sons and daughters in law, she is the matured person in the both of us.
Chinmayi, I am sadly starting to realise that it's only me who hasn't changed or grown up!
And this heaves me with a-"
With those words I saw Dadaji collapse on the floor clenching his heart.
I screamed.
"Move move move", rushed Eeshwar ji and his father and pushed me out of their way while aunty hurried to call the ambulance.
The silence was now replaced with chaos as I saw Eeshwar ji performing some first aid techniques. Deepak swept to my side and hugged me tightly while I saw this horrific situation swallow me into darkness.
Oh God no no no... I don't want these words to be Dadaji's last ones...
I prayed and prayed really hard while I heard the ambulance reach our place and the nurses took him in the stretcher.
All my family members grouped to leave to the hospital but Bhai then suddenly stopped abruptly and said, "Everyone, let's all stay calm. Everything is going to be fine. It's our dadaji. Let's not all crowd at the hospital. Papaji, Charan and me will leave to the hospital.
Anirudh, Chinnu and Diya, please take care of everyone at home. Veera and Megha please arrange for dinner. The elders can't be without eating.
Also once again, please let's all stay calm.
It's going to be fine."
Everyone agreed with Bhai. It did make a lot of sense.
Daadi, who was silent for a really long time tearfully spoke, "Your grandfather will be so proud of all of you!"

A/N:
So, here is the next update! I really hope Dadaji gets well soon and everything is okay with him. 🥺
Well, here's a small note I'd like to share:
As most of you know, this book is my first book and I had actually started it a few years ago. When I picked up the book from where I left it off, I really felt that it needed some editing to be done and I have successfully done it with all the published chapters until now. So, I really hope you could enjoy the book so far!
During this process, we have picked up some new readers, and the old ones eagerly waiting for the latest update. First off, thank you all for giving this book a chance, your precious time, votes and comments!
On that note, from now on, all the chapters will be published without the tag 'Edited' added on the chapter titles, showcasing that these are the fresh chapters.
Note on Updation: On a Weekly Basis.
Sorry to break this to you, but I have to switch to this because, my schedule looks really really crazy! But surely, I'll try my level best to be prompt enough to maintain the charisma of the story!
I LOVE YOU ALL. 💙
And so, please stay safe and at your homes.
Take good care.
PS:
Please do try my other books as well in the mean time! Also, it would be of great help if this book has really entertained you, kindly share it on your walls!
Cheers
Rashmi! ❤️
