Megha's POV:

Nervous?

No, that would be an understatement.

I was freaked.

The Sharma's and my parents were all seated in the living room. Gravity pulled my eyelids which forced me to look at my pedicured feet.

Theory of relativity, you rock!

Every second seemed like a millennium!!

The aura was filled with awkward silence and puzzled gawking. To bring everyone back to reality, was one such move which I never in my life expected would happen.

'Yes, I LOVE MEGHA and I think she likes me too.

Ma, Papaji, Badi Ma, Bade Papa, Chachi Chachu, Dhaadi and Daada...

Ma got to know today while my brothers and sisters knew quite some time ago and, all of you know how amazing Megha is.

She has been a part of this family since her childhood and She is not just Chinnu and Anirudh's friend-but has been a part of our happy and less happy days as well.

All of you have seen how much she's helped when Bhai and Bhabhi were in the hospital. And Ma, you've always treated Megha as your daughter.

Now, Ma, please give us a chance to make this real and actually possible.

Shasthri Uncle and Aunty,  I know I can never compare and compensate the love that you have been showering on her. But, I'll definitely live until my last breath by trying to love her with all my heart and soul, by fulfilling her dreams and I really want her to hold my hand while trying to fulfill mine.

Her friends will become her relatives and we will, never for a second make her feel lonely and lost. She will gain not just a family, but a fun-loving, caring and sanskriti one too. I can promise you that.

Please give us a chance. I am so sorry that you had to find out this way.

But-Really, Megha is my life. I really can't think of anybody else other than her to  be my better half. My soulmate and a person who would really know me so well and yet want to tag along with a monkey like me.

I LOVE HER..."

Everybody including me, was staring at Charan. Without blinking. Trying to process.

It was a LOOOOTTTTTTTTTTT....

Charan declared his love in front of everyone.

Including my parents.

It was like talking about the elephant in the room, but really Charan spoke it all.

My heart felt heavier than ever. And, gravity felt ever real.

"Ahem Ahem...", Sharma uncle cleared his throat.

Veera and Bhai now stood up and came near Charan.

"Choti Ma and Papaji,  you know how Charan is, he always cared about the family and has never really asked much for himself. He wouldn't have chosen a girl until and unless she is actually a perfect fit for our family. Also, he didn't choose anyone whom we don't know right?

It is our Megha!

The girl who literally grew up in our house. And, we all love her. Please- please do consider. Our Charan rarely asks for himself and, Megha is more like a present to the family more than him... " said Bhai.

Bhabhi also now walked slowly towards me and held my hand.

"I was a stranger to this family before I married Vivek. You all gave a space and shared your love with me. Megha, here however, has always been a part of your family. We are now just, solidifying it. Please-"

"Ahem Ahem..."

This time it was Dhadaji who cleared his throat. Bhabhi stopped in mid sentence.

"Shashtri Ji-"

"Ji- Sharma Ji..." Appa replied.

"My grandson, Charan...

He is really the heart of our family. He is now doing his MBA and soon join our family business. All my grandchildren have three parents and Charan is always the pampered one.

He has been brought up really well. I am the eldest in this family and my sons will listen to me to whatever decision I take.

Taking Lord Krishna's blessings, I would want to ask-

Will you please give your daughter's hand to my grandson, Charan? "

Appa was stunned. He didn't know how to react. He did not speak all the while and I really didn't know what he was thinking. It was a lot to process.

Appa turned to look at me. Tears were welling up my eyes.

" Sharma Ji- Aapka dil bahut badaa hai. As you all have told, Megha grew up here more than our home. Chinmayi is like a sister to her. We have brought her up to be independent and to be confident of her choices. If she has chosen that Charan is her life partner, then my wife and me are blessed to have Charan as our son in law... "

More tears befriended me.  Chinmayi and Bhabhi hugged me tightly.

My vision was so blurred.

Sharma uncle and aunty stepped forward...

Aunty gently tapped my back and I turned to look at her. She wiped my eyes and hugged me tight.

"Ghar ki bahu Lakshmi hai beta... Please don't cry..."

The cousins pushed Charan and me closer to each other and pulled us into a group hug.Charan held my hand and it felt complete.

I found my Kanha, I thanked the Lord.

" Arreeeeyyyy baccho... Un dono ko chodo..." said Chachi.

"Badhaai ho Shastri Ji..." said Bade-papa .

"Aapko bhi.." said Appa.

Sweets were distributed across the room and both of us took blessings from the elders.

Hare Krishna!
