Megha's POV:
Is it a dream or reality?
Whatever that is happening is so true to be real, right?
Wow.
This is simply amazing. I mean,
Charan and me-
Me and Charan!
I should really thank the Lord.
It all happened too fast and yet too slow. That is Einstein's theory of relativity and I am so obsessed with this and the theory of gravitation because they really saved me today.
I did not expect Charan to do whatever he did. I mean, to stand up in front of everyone, his family and mine, it does take in a lot of guts. This showed me that he really was in love with me-
Actions do speak louder than words.
I know Charan really well. He loves his family. Family comes first for him. He knew how difficult it would be for them to digest this fact. And, if they had denied it, we'd have broken up even before we had gotten together. He was stuck in a knitted web for a past few months. And today, whatever he did, Lord Krishna gave him the strength.
So, it's official: The love of my life and me are together.
I glanced to look at him, there was a smile plastered on his face and a tiny teardrop at the corner of his right eye. He looked handsome.
I smiled. I mean, I have always been a shy kid. I used to express myself only to Chinnu. Little did I know that this is what that was destined to me.
Amma and Appa looked extremely happy. There was a beautiful moment when appa gently turned to me even before giving assurance to the Sharma's. And, when appa saw me nod with a tear rolling down my cheek, he knew what to do. Amma was always supportive of my decisions and choices. She smiled too.
The Sharmas were blissful too. The moment seemed perfect that I just wanted to hit the pause button and admire the picture painted in front of me. I didn't want to breathe out loud to jinx the moment. It was definitely an epitome of perfection that was portrayed magically.
"Aur kahiye, Bhabhi ji..."
I knew who this was; my very own sister in law, Chinnu.
Ohho, sister in law, cracked my brain.
"Ushh- Keep quiet, Chinnu.", I blushed.
"Ohho, someone's blushing. Charan, where are you? Look at your girl-"
Charan was talking to Vivek Bhai and as soon as Chinnu called him, he blushed.
OMG.
Why is he blushing?
Now I feel like blushing and that is embarrassing, because 2 pairs of watchful eyes are literally making fun of us.
"Charan, what's happening man? You are a Sharma. Do not forget that!"
"Bhai, you too, Brutus?"
"Vivek and Chinnu, please leave those two alone!"
Bhabhi came to the rescue.
"And Megha, let me tell you about these Sharma "men":
They blush more than us!"
I started giggling!
" Diya- ", Bhai called out on embarrassment.
"A small piece of advice, from one bahu to another-", Bhabhi whispered.
"Ha Bhabhi"
"The secret to my marriage being successful is the fact that I try my level best to keep the child in Vivek alive.
All Sharma men are the same.
This is what Daadhi told me on the first day of my marriage."
I smiled and nodded in agreement.
Veera and Anirudh jumped out of nowhere and squeezed themselves into the tiny circle where Charan, me, Bhai, Bhabhi and Chinnu were standing.
"Charan, take Megha out on a date na", suggested Veera.
I was standing next to him for the first time after all of that happened. I blushed.
I felt him glancing at me and secretly smirking.
I blushed deeper.
Oh Lord Krishna, what have I gotten myself into? If I simply keep blushing for every word people utter, how am I going to get married to him and have kids and raise them?
Oh God, Megha, youu went too far.
* BREATHE *
"Megha, I've been your friend, since forever, you never told me that you could blush!", teased Chinnu.
"Chinnu, stop it ya-", I swatted her hand.
Charan started giggling.
I turned sharply to look at him. I mean, he wasn't helping. But as soon as I made an eye contact with him, from that microsecond, I realized it was all worth it. I mean, I love him. We were simply dissolved in staring at each other. Maybe, this is how eternity looked like.
"Hello, you two!", Anirudh brought us back.
"Charan, take her out bro. I mean, she's our Bhabhi now and you should take care of her properly. So, start off with a date. I'll ask permission from Ma and Papaji-"
"No no, don't do that Anirudh.", Bhabhi said.
"Guests are at home and it will not look good if these two out of nowhere just vanish away. We should wait until their engagement is officially announced", Bhabhi said.
"Oh no! What do we do now?", asked Anirudh.
It was so sweet. I mean, they were all busting their brains to somehow send Charan and me out. I knew that Charan was loved by all of his cousins, but to see it first hand, as a part of the family. It felt even more convincing and adorable.
Diya Bhabhi came with a plan.
She said that all the cousins and me can go out for dinner. With that as a reason, they'd leave the both of us alone and those guys would have fun. So it's not too evident and purpose served!
Bhai literally hugged her and all of us 'Oooohed', of course silently.
Since Veera was the most silent person and Akhila the youngest, the cousins planned and sent them with Bhai and Bhabi to back them up.
Look at them brainstorming! It was so cute.
Bhai came with a thumbs up and Bhabhi mouthed 'Operation Success'.
Charan turned to look at me. For the first time after all this- deep into my eyes and smiled.
I was right about the teardrop, because I saw it roll down his cheek. It was an emotional moment encapsulated in silence.
He gently wiped it off... His eyes not quivering away from me.
It felt like I was smiling!
Like a lot!
Probably like a fool... I don't know...
This is how our relationship began; in silence and smile; subtle and yet strong.
Megha Shasthri to Megha Sharma it is!
