We ran as fast as we could as the grunts were hot on our tail. Kitty created a force field to temporarily push back the grunts.

"You can do that?" Lucy asked.

"Indeed." Kitty said. "I have known how to do that since I was 11. It's not as effective when I am nervous, which is why I can't create a permanent one right now."

Regigigas tried as hard as he could to punch them away, but that couldn't go on for too long, as they advanced so quickly that he couldn't keep up. So we kept running.

Suddenly, a grunt was about to tackle Kitty and capture her. "KITTY!" Reggie screamed as he jumped in between them, punched the grunt in the face, picked up Kitty, and carried her in his arms.

"Thank you, Reggie." Kitty said.

"Wait- you actually showed some semblance of positive emotions towards me? DOES THIS MEAN YOU REALLY LOVE ME?" Reggie asked.

"I'll explain later." Kitty said.

Then Paul got an idea. "I know what to do. I will create gaps in space for us to run through." he said.

"Are you sure that will work?" I asked.

"Just trust me." he replied.

He then created a rift in space that would serve as a shortcut, and we ran through it. Once we came out the other end, we saw that we were very far ahead of the grunts. Then Paul created a rift in space that led into a locked room, just so we could catch our breath and the grunts would lose us. We ran in.

"Good thinking, Paul!" I said.

"Thank you, Diane." he replied. "It was really not much of a problem."

Kitty turned to Reggie. "Reggie," she said, "there is something I need to explain to you. You see, I have trouble reading people. I always have. I have this disorder called autism, which is a disorder characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication, along with restricted interests and repetitive behavior. This is why I only seem to talk about science, why I always twirl my finger around my skirt, and why I seem so shy. In reality, I am not shy. I just have trouble with socialization. Because I am not good at reading people, I had no idea if you were hitting on me because you sincerely loved me or because you were just a pervert that couldn't control himself around women and just wanted to... you know. Being something of a cynic, I assumed the worst until proven otherwise, but I was still conflicted internally. But now that I know that you care about me enough to rescue me, I just want to tell you that..." Her eyes averted for a moment and she blushed, then turning back to face Reggie. "I love you too."

She grabbed hold of Reggie and pulled him into a kiss. Surprised but still pleased, Reggie returned the kiss.

Gigi clapped. "Congrats on your new girlfriend, Reg." Gigi said to him. "And as for you, Kitty," she continued, "you are so valid. You may be different, but you're not less. You are so smart and so good at strategizing, and we don't know what we'd do without you." She hugged Kitty, and Kitty smiled.

Regigigas then walked up to Kitty. "You know, Kitty," he said to her, "my ability, Slow Start, halves my Attack and Speed for the first five turns of battle. But I'm still hailed as the god of strength, and when those five turns are up, I send my opponents into a world of pain! So I can say from experience that even though I'm at a disadvantage in a certain area, I can still kick butt and take names! And you can, too."

Kitty smiled. "Thank you. That's... reassuring." she replied.

"No problem." he said to her.

He then turned to Gigi. "So," -he turned toward Paul- "who is this?"

"This is my boyfriend, Paul." Gigi said. "He's Palkia's son. I hope to Arceus you don't hate me for having a boyfriend or hate him for not being what you'd expect."

"Oh no, I don't hate him. I'm more chill than most dads." He shook Paul's hand. "Nice to meet you, Paul."

"Nice to meet you too." Paul said as he returned the gesture.
