Child of Legends II: Prince of Space

Chapter Twenty

"Dad, I have one question for you." Gigi asked Regigigas.

"Yes, Gigi?" he replied.

"How did you get here?" she asked.

"That's a good question." he replied. "It's also a question that requires a story. So gather 'round, kids, because I'm about to tell you how I got here." We all sat down in a circle around him, even Paul, who was still a Palkia. It was adorable to see Palkia sitting down like that.

"So, today, at around 6:00 in the morning, I had this feeling that something bad was happening to you two. I don't know, I just get this feeling whenever one of my kids is in danger. But I had absolutely no idea where you guys were. Yeah, apparently my Dad Senses can tell if you're in trouble, but not where you are."

"So I decided to go ask Dialga and Palkia, because I knew my kids were friends with Dialga's daughter, and Palkia would be able to find out where in the spatial continuum they were and transport me there. So I got up, transformed into my human form (so people wouldn't suspect a thing), ran out of the Snowpoint Temple, transformed back into my Pokémon form once I got out of Snowpoint, ran all the way to Mt. Coronet, climbed up Mt. Coronet, and finally reached Spear Pillar."

"When I got there, I ran up and screamed at the top of my lungs: 'HAVE EITHER OF YOU SEEN MY KIDS?' Then both Dialga and Palkia poked their heads out and said 'WHICH ONES?' So I explained to the both of them which ones I was looking for. And then Dialga said 'OH YEAH, THEY'RE WITH MY DAUGHTER. I'M ABLE TO SEE EVERYTHING SHE DOES BECAUSE, AS THE GOD OF TIME, I HAVE SOME DEGREE OF OMNIPOTENCE. BUT, LIKE, I ONLY WATCH HER WHEN SHE'S DOING SOMETHING INTERESTING. NOT WHEN SHE'S POOPING OR ANYTHING.' 'So where is she?' 'SHE'S ON SOME BOAT IN JOHTO.' 'Palkia, can you take me there?' 'WELL, I CAN'T, BECAUSE IT'S IN MOTION RIGHT NOW AND I CAN ONLY CREATE RIFTS IN SPACE THAT LEAD TO A FIXED POINT.' Palkia said. 'BUT I CAN TRANSPORT YOU TO THE COAST OF JOHTO AND YOU CAN GO FROM THERE, OKAY?' I agreed, and he transported me there."

"So once I got there, I went up to the water and said 'HEY, ALL YOU POKÉMON! I NEED YOUR ATTENTION, PLEASE!' So some Pokémon rushed to my aid. 'My kids are on that boat, could one of you help me get there? Don't worry, I'm a legendary, so I'll turn into my human form to make things easier for you.' And then this Lapras comes up to me and says 'Sure.' and I turned into my human form, got on her back, and rode over to the boat. Once I got there, I told her to stay there until I came back. So I snuck in, and I just so happened to overhear you guys being auctioned off. So I went to the room where the auctioning was happening and listened closely. And right when Giovanni said 'sleeping with the Magikarps', I punched down the door to save my children. And the rest is history."

"That was a great story!"Gigi said.

"Yeah, it was!" Reggie replied.

"I'd have to agree." said Paul, who had transformed back into a human.

"Paul, you're a human again!" Kitty exclaimed.

"Yes, and I somehow know how to access my Pokémon form."

"Okay, so now we need a plan of escape." Lucy said, turning to Kitty. "Any ideas?"

"I have one." Kitty said. "Regigigas, I assume you are going home on your Lapras, so we can leave you out of this, right?"

"Yes." Regigigas replied.

"Okay," Kitty continued, "so since Palkia can fly, we'll have Paul and Lucy transform into their Pokémon forms. Since there are 8 of us (including Li'l Guy), Paul will carry 4 of you on his back, and Lucy will carry the other four. Does anyone have any questions about this plan?"

Terrence's hand shot up. "Yes, Terrence?" Kitty asked.

"Well, um, I have something I'd like to add." Terrence said. "You see, in my Groudon form, I am able to create temporary landmasses that disappear when I step off of them. So, theoretically, I could run across the water."

"Okay, but a) will you be able to travel fast enough and b) will you be able to find your way?"

"Yes and yes. I can travel fast enough on foot and I can just follow the two of you."

"Okay then, it's settled. You will have to run across the water."

"Now, who is going to be with who?" Kitty asked.

Immediately, Gigi decided she was going to be carried on Paul's back. Reggie wanted to be with Kitty, but he did have Li'l Guy to take care of, so he was torn. Lucy kindly said she would take all three. So I decided to ride on Paul's back. After all, he was my cousin, and I would trust him with my life.

Once we got our groups set up, Regigigas punched down the door and we continued to run. While Regigigas went a different way, the rest of us were headed for the deck of the ship. And luckily for us, we only had to go down a couple more hallways until we reached the deck.

Once we reached the deck, we were finally able to see and feel the sun again after being locked in a windowless cell for the last 24 hours. "Oh, glorious sun." Terrence said. "How I missed you."

Then we immediately split up. Paul, Gigi, and I went to the left side of the deck, while Lucy, Reggie, Kitty and Li'l Guy went to the right side and Terrence went to the bow. Both Paul and Lucy transformed into their Pokémon forms, and both of them knelt down for us to get on their backs. Gigi climbed up on Paul's back, and I subsequently did the same. I looked over, and I saw Reggie and Kitty on Lucy's back and Li'l Guy getting on.

"OKAY, WHEN I JUMP OFF, THAT'S YOUR CUE TO TAKE OFF!" Terrence said to us.

"ARE YOU SURE THAT'S SAFE?" I asked him.

"DON'T WORRY, DIANE. I'LL LAND ON MY FEET." he replied.

Then Terrence transformed into his Pokémon form and immediately jumped off the ship, and Paul and Lucy took off. Worried about Terrence, I looked back to see if he had made it and- he did! He was already running across the water, creating new land with each step. "YOU'RE DOING GREAT, TERRENCE! JUST MAKE SURE TO FOLLOW US!" I shouted to him.

Paul was a bit wobbly while flying, but that was to be expected considering this was his first time flying. However, I was concerned that he wouldn't recognize Camp Arceus from above, considering he had only been there for a few days before getting kidnapped.

"Okay, Paul, when I see Camp Arceus, I'll point it out, because that's where we need to land." I said to him. Paul nodded in agreement.

After flying for a little bit, I saw Camp Arceus. "There!" I said, pointing towards it. "That's Camp Arceus!" So Paul turned towards it, flew towards it, and eventually landed.

We got off, and Paul transformed back into his human form. Then Vicky saw us. "Diane!" she said, rushing up to me and hugging me. "You're back! You're finally back! I just knew you could do it, Diane! I just knew it!"

"Thanks, Vicky." I replied. "All it took was a lot of determination and a little legendary assistance."

"Wait up for us!" a deep, masculine voice said. It was Reggie, riding on Lucy's back with Kitty and Li'l Guy! And not only that, Terrence, who had made his way across the water, had finally reached Camp Arceus! Lucy landed as Reggie, Kitty and Li'l Guy got off, and both Lucy and Terrence transformed back into their human forms.

"Well, it seems like you left no one behind!" Vicky said. "The goddess of willpower, Azelf, has truly blessed all of you. Even in your darkest hour, you pulled through and managed to find your way home. Now that's what I call dedication." Then Vicky got out a megaphone and called out to all the other campers.

"HEY EVERYONE, DIANE AND THE GANG ARE BACK!"

Everyone rushed out and cheered, and people were going up to hug us, high-five us, and otherwise congratulate us on our escape. It was just like last year, when I came back to Camp Arceus after saving the world.

However, unlike last year, I still had this lingering feeling that my job wasn't over quite yet. I may have gotten back in one piece, but there was still the issue of Nuclea's chest crystal still being broken and the barrier still being nonexistent. That was something I still had to fix...
