I opened my eyes, thinking I'd feel Finn next to me, but I didn't. I furrowed my eyebrows, I didn't hear him say he's going this morning. I got up and looked out of the window, his car was still there, which meant I definitely wasn't dreaming.

"Finn?" I shouted, thinking he might of just gone to the bathroom, no answer.

I walked to Amelia's bedroom, she was soundly sleeping in her bed, cuddling her teddy bear. I walked down the stairs again, Finns phone was on the glass coffee table. I picked it up to see lots of messages from an unknown number.

I furrowed my eyebrows, and tried to unlock Finns phone, i guessed the password immediately, all the numbers down the middle. I clicked on the messages, Finn was messaging them.

Unknown: if you don't want Amelia to die, meet me.

Finn: what the fuck who is this?

Unknown: I'll give you a hint, RB are my initials. Meet me in the forest at the lake.

Finn: I don't even know where that is I've only been here for a month

Unknown: tough luck. Find it

Finn: well how long do I have?

Unknown: I'll be kind and give you 15 minutes

Finn: if I come right now, you leave Amelia and Millie the fuck alone, okay?

Unknown: they're all you'res.

Finn: yours* see you there

Panic immediately washed over me, those messages were sent at 4:34am, it was now 8am, where the fuck was he. Suddenly my phone vibrated, I looked at the message.

Unknown: meet me at the tree if you want your stupid little boyfriend back, you know.. the one we used to meet at when we were together- Romeo xxx

I immediately called Sadie, asking if she'd look after Amelia while I went, she said yes and got round really quickly. I quickly ran out of the door and got in my car, parking it outside the woods and running to the tree.

My mouth instantly dropped to the floor at what I seen, Finn was tied up to the tree, with a bruised face and blood dripping from his nose and lip, his white shirt had blood all over the collar.

"Aww, Finnie must really care about our daughter, you know.. to get beat up to save her. Let me emphasise the word OUR." He said,

I walked to Finn and helped him out of the ropes, then the unexpected happened, Romeo stabbed him with his knife, straight in his stomach, Finn dropped straight on me. Romeo ran away.

"Finn, your okay your okay." I said as I quickly called an ambulance. "Why did you come here? You could of just called the police."

"I-I didn't want y-you t-to get h-hurt." He said, I felt tears dripping down my face.

We heard loads of sirens, then they found us, Finn was put on a stretcher and pulled out of the woods. I looked down at my yellow shirt, which was full of red, Finns blood was all over my shirt. I felt myself sobbing in the middle of the woods, into my hands.

It all clicked now, something that never did before. Finn risked his life just for me and my daughter, I have only known him for a month, people who have known me years wouldn't even do that. He found out I had a kid, and was nothing but kind to me about it.

He is nothing but kind to my daughter, I couldn't be more thankful for that. He buys her everything, she doesn't shut up about him. She told me she wishes Finn was her dad.

He is such a kind hearted person, who has been through so much, but he's powered through it.

I sobbed harder, gripping my shirt into my hands, his crimson red blood had dried. I must've been sat here for ages.

"Millie!" I heard someone shouting my name, I thought I was imagining things, until I heard it again, this time in a different voice. It was my friends, obviously apart from Sadie.

I seen Maddie and Grace, so I ran up to them, they hugged me, not caring that I had blood all over me.

"Millie oh my gosh I'm so happy your okay!" Maddie said, then i felt three more people join the hug, Caleb, Gaten and Noah.

"Sadie said she will baby sit for as long as you need, now we're going to the hospital for Finn. I'll drive your car for you." Caleb said. "You can go with Maddie and Grace."

"Thank you." I said, still crying.

We all walked out of the woods and got into the cars, then drove to the hospital. When I got in, I seen Finns mum sat there, I walked to her and sat next to her.

"Hey, Mrs Wolfhard." I said, she looked up at me, she had tears on her cheeks.

"Hello Millie, and please, Call me Winona." She said, then she noticed the blood on my shirt. "Finn is doing okay, if that's why your here."

"Yup, that's why I'm here." I said, calming myself down. "I- he did it for me, he went to go and meet Amelia's father to stop Amelia from being in danger, then Romeo stabbed him."

"I know who stabbed him dear, Finn told the police already and they're looking for him. My Finn, he's a very good boy. He will put anybody before himself." She said, I nodded agreeing. "Are those your friends."

"Yeah, that's Maddie, Grace, Gaten, Caleb and Noah. Caleb is who Finn is closest to." I said, she smiled, then shook all of their hands.

I was sat in Finns room now, he was sleeping. His face had been cleaned, so he no longer had blood all over it. He still had cuts and bruises. He was laid here, looking weak. Something he told me he tried so hard not to be.

His hand was holding mine, then he woke up. He looked around confused, then looked at me.

"Millie." He said, I smiled.

"Thank god your awake, I thought you were gonna die." I breathed, I heard him laugh.

"No, your not getting rid of me that quick." He said, causing me to smile wider. "Is my mom here?"

"Yeah, do you want me to go get her?" I asked, he nodded.

"Okay, hold on." I said, letting go of his hand as I walked out of the door.

I told his mum what Finn was awake, then I went to everybody else, who stayed here.

"Is he okay?" Maddie asked, I nodded with a smile.

"He's fine, he has a lot of cuts and bruises on his face, and obviously his stomach, but he seems okay." I said, they all smiled.

I checked my phone to see if Sadie had messaged me anything, she has.

Sadie: stay as long as you want, I don't mind babysitting. Amelia and I are having fun

Mills: thank you, your the best. I'll be home in like 30 minutes

Sadie: okay💘💘

I put my phone in my pocket, then Finns mum walked back out, she told us that Finn wants to see everybody. So we all walked to his room.

"Hey, lover boy." Caleb said, finn playfully rolled his eyes.

"Lover boy?" Gaten questioned.

"It's an inside joke." Finn said, Gaten nodded.

"I thought so." He replied, sitting on one of the chairs.

"So when do you get released?" Grace asked, Finn shrugged.

"I don't know, nobody has said anything." He said.

"That's a shame, it's Amelia's birthday this weekend." Noah said, great. I didn't want to tell Finn because I didn't want him spending more money on her, which I know he'd do.

"Wait.. really?" Finn asked, his eyes went wide, I slowly nodded. I'm a bad liar, so there was no way I could say it wasn't. "I think I will probably be out by the end of this week."
