"Are you really fine going by yourself? I-I would come too, it's just that I'm not skilled enough." Currently sitting at a table along with Camilla and Loraine in the castle's library, Liliana was trying to convince Fotula to stay with them, not because she wanted to tie her down, but because she didn't want her to be lonely. The ravenette ensured the younger that she was going to be alright and that she preferred practical work over books anyway.

The room went silent after the purple eyed princess candidate left. Loraine was actually reading one of the books about auras and sacred weapons all four girls had gathered, Camilla was lost in thought while staring into space and Liliana couldn't help but be a little bothered by the tension.

"Lady Camilla, are you feeling unwell?" The silver haired female dared to break the suffocating silence, snapping the other back to reality. Almost startled, the chestnut brown eyed female shook her head, flashing Liliana a sheepish look. "S-Sorry, I wasn't listening."

"I was wondering if you were alright, that's all." The blue eyed girl repeated, not gaining much of a reaction by the other female. "I'm okay... I didn't get much sleep, I guess." That along with a scratch of the back of her neck were Camilla's response. Liliana wasn't going to stick her nose any deeper than that, but instead of silently studying, she decided to try and converse with her rivals. "Say, why do you both want to become princesses?"

The question came out of the blue and neither of the girls were prepared to answer. The caramel haired female had to think about it longer in order to reply, even vaguely at that. "There isn't really a deep reason, but I guess it would be in order to change the kingdom."

"I'm not saying I'm not satisfied with it, there's just a few things that would be better off different." Camilla added before her gaze met with the girl sitting across her. "Not only that, but it's been my dream ever since I was a child. I've always admired princesses. What about you, Liliana?"

"This might sound selfish and greedy, but I applied for this position for the f-financial support." The blue eyed female looked away from the girl while speaking, blushing out of shame. "As you know, I actually live in Puleuna. I was born there and grew up in that place as well, unlike my parents who immigrated there. They often get looked down on from the other villagers and don't have jobs that pay well due to that."

"I have two little sisters back at home, twins actually, who are ten years old. Me being the oldest, there are things I want to take care of, so that my sisters can go to school properly and allow them to have a bright future." Liliana spoke in a rather reminiscent tone, looking down at the fingers she was twiddling with. "S-So yeah, that's i-it for me!"

"That's not selfish at all. I think it's quite noble actually." The chestnut brown eyed girl commented, putting the silver haired female at ease. Exhaling, Liliana then glanced over at Loraine who had been silently listening all this time while pretending to read and not care at all. "W-What about you, Lady Loraine?"

She and the blonde didn't get along at all. The rich girl even did some nasty things to the her and it was audible by Liliana's voice that she was hesitant about speaking to Loraine. She included her in the conversation partly because of her habit of not wanting to exclude people or make them feel unwelcome. She wasn't necessarily hoping for an answer, but...

"To be acknowledged." Loraine bluntly said in her mind, but there was no way she was going to voice those thoughts to the others. Furrowing her brows, the blonde clicked her tongue and replied with a snarky comment in order to hide the truth. "Why should I tell you peasants anything? It's for power obviously."
