MARIA
11:58 am; Wednesday- Midtown Highschool"So you have to work with Peter Parker?" Ashtyn asked as she snorted slightly. I rolled my eyes at her like always, I literally just explained to her what was going on.
No, I didn't say Peter was Spider-Man out of respect of my dad and Peter himself. I just said Peter would be working with me.
"He must be working with you because of that Stark internship," Ashtyn noted, pointing her fork at me. She began slurping on the artificial blueberry slurpie she got for lunch. Midtown Highschool always had their 'special' food on Wednesdays.
"I didn't know he had a Stark internship... in fact I didn't know there was such a thing," I commented, slightly confused. Was that the thing Flash was saying to Peter the other day before school? Maybe he said the 'Stark internship' as a cover-up from being Spider-Man.
"Well now you know," Ashtyn teased, while she flung more of the greasy fries into her mouth. I swear, the girl eats and eats and still remains looking like a literal stick.
Suddenly, my phone starts buzzing rapidly in my back pocket. Ashtyn raises an eyebrow in the interest of who may be calling me, while I reach for it.
Who would be calling me during school?
But as soon as I see the caller ID, I instantly know who it is.
Oh my, Thor.
"Hello, Thor?" I say flatly, as I pick up the call to my ear. I discussed this with him many times, you can not call someone during school. He still doesn't consider 'lunch' a part of school though.
"Hello, little Stark! I come with a message for you!" he exclaims, way too loudly.
Ashtyn eyes light up with excitement once she realizes its actually Thor. She mouths to me, 'Oh my Thor... its actually Thor!' I roll my eyes at her while I try to carry on my conversation with the god.
"What's the message?" I ask while I try to focus even though Ashtyn is currently biting her bottom lip and fanning herself.
"You have trained with the son of Parker tonight! Your father wants you to make sure he knows," he goes on.
I laugh slightly when he says, 'son of Parker.' For some reason, Thor always thought your last name was your father's name. It took at least two years for him to start calling me 'Maria Stark' instead of 'Maria Anthony.'
"Okay Thor, I'll talk to Peter-" I stopped talking for a second, realizing what I just said.
I will have to talk to Peter, I thought to myself. I mean- that's okay, right? It involves work, so yeah definitely okay.
"I'll talk to Peter," I say, repeating what I said before I cut myself off.
"Anyway, bye Thor. I'll see you sometime soon," I continued, with Ashtyns begging eyes pleading me to not hang up on her so-called 'soulmate'.
"Bye Little Stark!"
I clicked the end of the call button and slid my phone back into its spot in my pocket. I looked back at Ashtyn to see an angry glare at me.
I chuckled, "Whoopsie." She fanned herself, while she began trembling to act as if she was crying.
"My-my s-soulmate. Y-you hung u-up on hi-him," she dramatically stated, while I shook my head at her.
"Man, you really need to grow up."

As soon as the school bell rang, I didn't hesitate to go find Peter.
Ever since lunch, I have been holding off talking to the teenage boy. I kept telling myself, 'Oh next period I will do it,' but I still slacked off making an excuse to not fulfill my promise. But now, the school's out, and I needed to find him.
I walked, pushing through the crowds of teenagers eager to get out of school, which was horrible since I was coming from the way of the outdoor doors. That meant everybody was coming towards me. Being only 5'4 didn't help either, especially since I am junior in high school.
"Excuse me!" I yell out at everybody who got in my way. I was about to yell out Peter's name, but I was fearful other people might be wondering why I was looking for him.
The crowds eventually started dying down, as most of the students were already out or I have passed them.
Boy... brunette hair... tallish... brown eyes... I repeated, looking out for the features on student's faces, seeing if any matched with Peter.
But then, I came across a boy who's back faced me at his locker. He put a single earbud in his left ear.
"Peter?" I questioned at the boy, and he instantly turned around to find it was indeed him.
He looked at me with startled eyes, "Uh-uh yes?" He has these big brown eyes looking at me, which I noticed he does everytime he looks at me
·····
PETERI was putting my earbud in, relieved it was the end of the school day. Last night was extremely stressful, especially with the whole Stark deal.
I was about to grab my bag when I heard a small voice from behind.
"Peter?"
My eyes went wide, suddenly recognizing the voice.
I turned around to face Maria, expecting her to be with some expression of rage on her face, but no, it was innocence.
"Uh-uh yes?" I asked, as I looked at- or down at the girl.
"Hey-um well we have training for the job today," she said, exaggerating the 'job.'
I blinked as I nodded, understanding what she meant. I was surprised at how calm she was, it was odd. She must be remembering how everything has gone between us yesterday.
"Well-er Happy is waiting outside with the car for us," she said, before turning to leave with her bookbag over one shoulder.
But after a few steps, she stopped and turned back slightly to face me.
"I suggest you hurry up," she commented, before making her way like she originally was down the hallway.
Even though she couldn't see it, I smiled softly to myself as I zipped up my bookbag to follow her.
