MARIA
3:49; Thursday- Avengers FacilityI groaned.
Today was Thursday.
Now, that might not seem like a big deal. But let me tell you, tomorrow is the day our project was due. And what progress have we made? None. Nope, none. Besides a few ideas Peter got plot down, no actual product has been made.
I sat by the couch, pouting to myself. We originally were training today, but once I told my dad about the project, he was actually considerate for once.
So here I was, across from Peter by the other couch, at the Avenger's facility.
"Okay, what about dynamite? That would be super cool-"
"No, Peter. No." I didn't take my eyes off the ground in front of me.
"You two still working on the project?" I heard a group of footsteps coming up behind me. I turned to see some of the Avengers, who were sweating and panting. They must have got done with training just now.
"Yeah... we have no clue. Its due tomorrow too!" I say, sadness dwelling over me. Saying it out loud made it one hundred times worse.
"Why not have Bruce help you with his medical junk? Do a study on him and Hulk," Rhodey helps out, as well sits down next to me.
"No. That would probably give students nightmares," I reject, not even with my usual humor.
"Do a study on the Weiner Soldier's metal arm. See how much you have to beat it up to fall off," Sam suggests with complete humor. Bucky sends him a death glare.
"What about the Weiner Soldier?" My dad casually strolls in, clearing not understanding my mood. I frown, knowing they're all useless.
"Oh poor Maria, I will help you-"
"Guys, come on. They seriously need help," Steve interrupts my dad's sarcasm, thankfully. I look back at him, to see him standing right behind me and the couch. But out of the corner of my eye, I spot his shiny shield stabled against the kitchen trashcan.
"What about vibranium? In Wakanda, you know." Natasha offers as if she saw Steve's shield too.
"Vibranium? There's no way by tomorrow they could make it to Wakanda-"
"I know of someone." I look back in front of me, to see the innocent Thor was the one who talked. I quiver an eyebrow.
"Who?" both Peter and I happen to ask the God at the same time. Thor sheepishly smiles and waits a moment.
"He goes by Dr. Strange."
·····
I shiver as I walk down the sidewalk. Dogs barking, cars honking, and people pushing past you aren't the best way to not get irritated at a time like this.
"How much longer?"
"We shall be there soon."
I sigh. Thor has been claiming that the past half hour. Peter walked next to me, hands shoved in his pockets and all. The cool air made his nose a rosy color, reminding me of Rudolph.
"I hope Thor actually knows what he is doing," I whisper to him, even though Thor was leading us a few feet ahead. Peter smiled unknowingly.
"Me too." He stuttered for a short second like he was about to say something unwillingly but was holding it back.
"And here we are!" I thumped into Thor's back from his instant stop. I brush it off though and look at the apartment in front of me.
