PETER
8:31 pm; Wednesday- fairgrounds

Neon lights shot everywhere.

Music blasted in the distant, covered mainly by the chattering of people all over the fairgrounds. The smell, a mix of grease pans and sweet, powdered sugar, coated the air especially as you got closer to the vendors.

I stood leaned up against the pole near the entrance, where I already paid for my entry. All was left was Maria.

Maria to arrive here.

And yet for some reason, between the anxiety and excitement boiling inside of me, I felt oddly calm. Maybe it was the fact I kept pushing away my plans for later tonight away in my mind, but it was soothing to not be stressed.

It was as if my senses could see because I could feel the presence of Maria walking up to me. Or at least someone walking up to me. I turn my head up to see it was indeed her.

She hiked her way near me with her arms swaying with every step. It wasn't until she stepped into the light and her shadow figure disappeared, that it revealed the dress she got- that I bought- a couple days ago. The sight made me smile.

"Like my dress?" she teased with a bright smile.

"Definitely, " I reply with equal humor. She laughs briefly but then drops into a softer tone.

"I've never actually have been to a fair before, " she admits. I was surprised, don't get me wrong, but it would make sense almost since she is a Stark.

"Oh really? Well, I've got a lot to show you then in our free time, " I respond. She nods eagerly.

"That would be great, " she slowly shifts her brown eyes at all the lights and attractions,

"It's so simple yet so amazing." Her interest in the fair is what really surprised me.

"C'mon, there's a lot I need to show you."

"Lead the way."

She followed me by my side as I swooped deeper into the fairgrounds. It was nice, not having to worry about TED on a mission with Maria for once. It was up to the Avengers now to come in and finally end it.

"What's that?" Maria asked pointing at something near us. I squinted at where she pointed at, but ceased to figure out what she was aiming towards. It was near an elder man twisting a cardboard cone around cottoned sugar. Wait... cotton candy?

"Cotton candy?" I corroborate.

"Oh, yeah- cotton candy! That's what it's called. Cotton candy, " she replied as if she knew. I raise an eyebrow and smile slyly.

"You sure?"

"Okay, fine, I didn't actually know, " she huffed, "I've never tried any. I always have wanted to though." I nudge her teasingly towards the spot, and she looks up at me with excitement in her eyes.

"Really? We can get some?"

"Yeah, let me show you how." And again, she followed me over to the machine with a brightly colored umbrella over it. I gave the elder man three dollars- a little expensive- and he gave me a thin cardboard cone.
