16. My Nike Hoodie.

A/N: I was going to post yesterday, bc I had a long car ride to write chapters, yesterday. But I barfed halfway through the car ride and I've been barfing ever since the car ride. Didn't expect that, did you? :)

Anyway, I'm feeling better today. So I'm uploading the chapter really early. I usually update at 9 PM. And it's like 11 AM right now!

MACKENZIE'S POV:

(Tuesday Morning, At the Ziegler house).

I slept in today. After what happened yesterday, I didn't feel like getting out of bed.

I couldn't stop thinking about what Johnny did. I refuse to say what it is.

Okay. He kissed me on my forehead.

You may think I'm overreacting about this whole situation, but you don't just kiss someone on the forehead...

Don't think I forgot about what he said before he left. I could never.

FLASHBACK:

As I predicted he would, Johnny scoffs. But I never could've predicted for what he said after. "I don't like you. Out of all of the other girls I could have, why would I choose you?"

I was wrong. He could hurt me more than he already has.

I was left numb. His words burned into my ears and I couldn't handle it anymore. I couldn't handle him. I opened my mouth to speak, but nothing came out. There was no way I could express my hatred for him in words. That's right, hatred. I hate him.

"I would even choose Annie over you. After all, she's prettier and doesn't act so weird, like you do." He looked me in the eyes the whole time. I couldn't read any emotion on his face, not even any on his eyes.

END OF FLASHBACK.

Johnny is a cruel person, who doesn't deserve to be loved. Why would he even say that?

What he said did have some truth to it, he could have any girl he wants, I mean he's gorgeous. Why would he want to date me? I'm nothing. I have a few friends and no one really talks to me. But he crossed a line when he mentioned Annie, and he knew it.

Annie is a gorgeous, perfect human being, but it destroyed my heart. He knew I liked him, he just said that to hurt my feelings. And my feelings were hurt.

I'm not even going to bother to ignore him, I knew I wasn't capable of such a thing.

There was a vibrating sound coming from my bedside table. I jumped at the sound and removed my red blanket from my head. While groaning, I pick up my phone from the bedside table. Annie called me. Great.

She's probably wondering why I'm not at school. I haven't seen her since I went to the junkyard. I refused to tell Maddie anything about what happened yesterday, with Johnny. I knew she would tell Annie and Annie would scream Johnny's ear off. Annie and Johnny were friends, I didn't want to ruin that. Because ruining that meant ruining the 'ask out Hayden' plan. I wouldn't do that to Annie. Or Hayden

I clicked the answer button, putting my phone up, to my ear. "Hey, Annie. What's up?"

"YOU BETTER COME TO SCHOOL RIGHT NOW, BEFORE I BITE YOUR EAR OFF!" Annie growled, resulting in me falling off of my bed.

"Okay, calm down. I'll get dressed and go to school" I breathe out, hoping she'll calm down.

I could almost see her smile on the other end of her phone, "good. I goto go now, I'll see you later!" It kind of scared me how she could go from angry to calm in such a short amount of time.
