20. "I have so much to tell you!"

A/N: Early update once again. I think this should be a regular thing. This is a continuation from the last chapter. This story hit 1k reads and 100 votes :)

MACKENZIE'S POV:

(Thursday Morning)

"Kenzie!" Maddie yelled, on the other side of the house. I was in my room, with a big bowl of popcorn next to me, on my bed. 

I was re-watching some classic PLL, but Maddie--like always--interrupted me. I groan while taking off my headphones and walking downstairs.

Maddie was on the couch, doing the same thing as me--watching Netflix and eating popcorn.

"What?" I ask, jumping onto the couch beside Maddie. Why can't she just go in her room?

Maddie stopped stuffing her face with popcorn and looked at me, with these sympathetic eyes I knew too well. She's going to tell me something I won't like very much. "Don't get mad. But we're going to the Orlando's again today."

Nevermind, I think I'm actually enjoying this news. A smile spread across my face, but I immediately tried to hide it, which only left Maddie confused. Maddie squints her eyes and begins digging through the popcorn again, "why are you so happy?"

As predicted, Annie told Maddie everything I told her. Maddie knows about what Johnny said to me, she knows about the kiss and the hoodie thing too. 

"What's not to be happy about? You know I like Johnny--again." I get up from the couch I was sitting in and sit on to the seat beside her, eating some of her popcorn.

I took a few pieces. I reach over to get some more, but Maddie slaps my hand, "this is my popcorn! Get your own!" she sends me a glare, as I send her one too. "Anyways, things haven't been too well between Mom and the Orlando's, so they thought some bonding time would be best."

I get from the couch, making my way back to my room. "Be ready at 5 pm, Kenz!" she screeches probably digging into that popcorn some more.

(Wednesday, 4 pm, at the Ziegler house).

I re-watched the final episode of the fourth season at least 5 times. The episode where Alison's 'death' is revealed. God, I love Pretty Little Liars.

I check the time, on my phone, seeing that there's only 1 hour till we leave to go to Johnny-the Orlando's house. 

I had to wear something that would impress Johnny--I mean, the Orlando's. But at this point, I didn't really care. If Johnny really liked me, like Annie said, he wouldn't care how I dressed. He would care about me. Not what I'm wearing. 

I throw on an orange hoodie and a pair of jeans. After grabbing my phone, I head down the stairs.

Maddie was waiting at the door. Mom finally came back from her business trip today, but she decided killing time at work is better than spending time with her daughters.

Whatever. I'm used to this. I'm used to her never coming home. I don't actually remember the last time my mom and I had a conversation that wasn't about her work.

Maddie was on her phone. But stopped to look at my outfit. She scanned me up and down, seeming a little disappointed.

"What?" I ask, feeling a little self-conscious.

A sweater and jeans were my usual. What was wrong with it?

"I thought you'd wear something a little nicer," she explains, still looking at my outfit.

I shrug, not bothering to reply with words. She meant to say 'I thought you'd wear something a little nicer for Johnny.' But I'll let her comment slide.
