MACKENZIE'S POV:

(Wednesday, at school).

I told Annie everything.

From the fighting with Johnny in Maddie's room to him wearing my hoodie. Everything.

Like always, she became angry at Johnny. Annie seemed pretty pleased with the kiss, though.

"You do know that you're prettier than me, right Kenz?" Annie grinned.

I scoffed, "you don't have to lie to me, Annie. I know I'm not pretty." I muttered my continuation, "Johnny even said so."

Annie rolled her eyes, slumping into her chair. "Johnny is a liar. He just simply doesn't have the guts to tell you that you're pretty to your face."

Annie, Hayden and I got detention for being late to class. Once we got there, Hayden sat beside some of his friends. While Annie and I sat next to each other.

Annie told me Johnny agreed to the double date, which put me in a bit of a good mood. I hate to admit it, but my feelings for him have come back. I personally don't think he should've accepted the double date, considering he had a girlfriend. Even though it was Lexi--one of the meanest girls I know--no one deserves to be cheated on.

I never understood Johnny, why would he be flirting with me while dating another girl?

I'm getting too ahead of myself, Johnny and I could never be in a relationship. He'll cheat on me. He's cheated on all the girls he's dated. I have too much respect for myself to do that. Or not. I mean, he's gorgeous. I'd probably say yes if he asked me out. Which'll never happen.

Afterall, it's the one--the only--Johnny Orlando. All girls would kill to be with him. Why would he want to be with me? Although all of the flirting he's doing with me is confusing, I'm not going to expect much out of him.

Annie mentioned that Johnny planned to skip the rest of the school day. But... how am I supposed to get my hoodie back now?!

Whatever.

"Well, do you have feelings for Johnny anymore?" Annie crossed her leg, resting her elbow on the desk.

Normally, in detention, talking is forbidden. But this teacher is extremely old. So as long as we keep our voices down, she won't realize a thing.

I thought hard before answering the question. I already knew what the answer was--yes, I do like him. But should I tell Annie?! Who am I kidding, she's my best friend. Of course, I'll tell her.

"Yeah' I breathed out, hoping Hayden wasn't secretly listening on our conversation. He looked bored out of his mind. To be fair, staring at the floor isn't very entertaining. His friends were talking about some game, while he was... thinking. I'm pretty sure he's thinking.

I look back at Annie, to see her charmed face on. Just like me, she was also staring at Hayden. The difference was, I was looking out simply out of curiosity and boredom. Annie had a smile on her face and was gazing into his eyes.

Hayden didn't seem to notice, considering he was still staring at the floor. "Annie?" I ask, waving my hand around her face to see if she was alive or not.

Annie zoned back into society and jumped. "W-W-What happened?" She started looking around and I began laughing.

Can you blame me? I just caught her staring at her crush with heart eyes. Annie brushed it off, shaking her head to get rid of any Hayden-full thoughts. "So, do you like Johnny"
