A/N: These early updates are becoming a regular thing. This chapter is a continuation from the previous one. There hasn't been a jenzie chapter in a while, so this is it.
I needed some Lenzie in this story, so here it is :)
MACKENZIE'S POV:
{ Previously:
I stared at his door for a while, trying to delay going into Lauren's room as much as possible.
She pulled me by my shirt and brought me to her room, "come on!" she says, slightly laughing. "I have so much to tell you!"
With that, I let out a worried sigh.
What did I just get myself into? }
(In Lauren's bedroom).
Lauren and I were seated on her bed. She had a grin plastered onto her face, while I looked like I could pee my pants any minute now.
After what I said to my mom, I used up all of the courage I could for one day. I was too scared to talk to Lauren.
Gladly, she talked first. "Listen, I know things haven't been good between us the past 4 years. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for how I acted."
My eyes were wide open. I was desired to say 'who are you and what have you done with Lauren' but that would be incredibly rude--and stupid. Like I said, I don't have any courage whatsoever in me right now.
"I-I-I don't know?" That stutter-full statement came out more like a question.
She smiled. Since when did Lauren smile? "I'm fully aware of how I treated you. Johnny explained everything to me yesterday. So, if you'd want, I'd like to me friends."
I was too scared to speak. Can you blame me? Lauren was the sweetest person you could ever meet, 4 years ago. Then she became this loveless monster. And now... she's back to being that sweet little girl again.
I wanted to say that I would like to be friends. But I remember that I had my pride. I had too much respect for myself to let the girl that bullied me, for 4 years, win.
She blinked at my blank expression and has probably been studying my facial expression for the past few seconds.
"Or, if you want, acquaintances?" she shrugs, seeming slightly nervous. Since when was Lauren Orlando nervous?
I let my pride go. If we're going to be honest here, I let it go a long time ago. "Yeah. I'd like that, actually" I let out a soft smile, resting my hands on her bed.
Just like Johnny's, Lauren's room hasn't changed much.
I stare at her, waiting for her to say something. Like always, she did. That's something I always liked about Lauren. Unlike me, she wasn't awkward. She always knew what to say. "So, before I talk about my past 4 years on this earth..." she nudges my shoulder, letting a smirk escape her face.
"What?" I giggle, confused as hell.
"Johnny!" she screams, acting like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"What about him?" I ask, uncomfortable at the mention of his name. I forgot all about him! He's been waiting for me to visit his room.
"You just tensed up when I mentioned his name!" she yells, resulting in me slightly jumping off the bed.
"No!" I lied, refusing to look into her eyes. I cross my arms, making a pouty expression. Just for those few minutes, I seemed really comfortable around Lauren. I personally think that I am capable of putting the past 4 years behind me.
