"She's not even that pretty" they said.
I looked at them
In amazementHow could they say that?
How could they think that?
What were they missing? She was absolutely beautiful.
She was the girl every guy wanted to be with,
She was the girl everyone wanted to look like,
The girl with the perfect face,
The girl with the perfect life,
The girl I wish I could be.This was the girl I compared myself to
Every,
Single,
Day.I strived to look like her
But failed every timeThere was no way
I could ever look like her,
I could ever be as skinny as her,
As pretty as her,
As funny as her,
As attractive as her."She's not even that pretty"
How could they think that?Maybe they saw something I didn't.
Maybe they saw the truth.
Maybe they saw the real girl.Underneath all the makeup,
The pretty face,
The skinny body,
They saw her real personality.Maybe it's true
what they all say.
It doesn't matter what's on the outside,
It's what's on the inside that matters. If you really knew that girl,
Knew the way she acted,
The way she treated people,
Maybe,
Just maybe,
She wouldn't be,
So gosh darn pretty.~ R.L.
