Anti stayed off to the side just watching Laura. He was sitting on the bench of one of the machines she was not using. He watched her fluent movements. He marveled at how she seemed to move in time with the music. The faster the song the harder she went the slower the song the slower her movement. When she was pulling down the bar that was attached to the weights he was drawn in by the definition in her arms and shoulders. The way her muscles were so prominent. Laura is so strong both physically and mentally. She is beautiful and powerful. Anti realized his mind had wandered and he shook away those thoughts. He knew thinking like that could get him killed if he wasn't careful. He decided it would be best if he waited over in the corner of the room where he couldn't really look at her. He could still keep an eye on her without getting any ideas. Anti tried to focus on what they would do today. Places they could go and have fun. All the people they could torment and kill. How she loved to kill. The way she would stalk people or lure them into a trap. Then when she pounced and pulled out her blade, it was glorious. The look in her eyes was breathtaking. "She is something isn't she?" Wilford was standing right behind Anti. "Damn it Will you scared me!" "Well maybe if you weren't fantasizing about Dark's little pet then you would have known I was here." "First of all, I was not fantasizing and second she is not his pet." "Don't lie to me. I see the way you are looking at her. Why don't you go get her?" "NO!" "Why not?" "Because she is with Dark." "That has never stopped you before." "This time is different. She is different. Things are different." "I have noticed that." Wilford said with an odd tone. Anti eyed him, not quite sure what he meant by that. "Did you just come here to pester me or did you need something?" Anti asked, annoyed. "No, nothing. I will leave you with your thoughts." Wilford walked out of the room. Anti checked on Laura, she didn't seem to notice that Wilford was even in the room. Anti went over and climbed onto the one of the ellipticals and started playing around. It was keeping his mind off of Laura and what Wilford had said but letting him keep a close watch on her. Laura was just finishing up on her last machine and got on the treadmill that was next to Anti. She started it up and walked slowly. "Why are you going so slow?" Anti asked. "It is my way to cool down. It allows my muscles to relax after such a hard workout. If I was to just stop my muscles could seize and could case a pull. This way they relax naturally as my heart rate lowers as well." "Interesting." "Ok, let me shower and change and then we can head out. Sound good?" "Sounds good to me. I will be waiting in the living room." "Ok." Laura ran upstairs, showered quickly and got dressed. She headed downstairs to find Anti. She ruffled his hair as she came up behind him. "Ready to go?" "Yeah let's go." Anti grabbed Laura's hand and glitched them out of the house. They appeared in a park. There were couples all over the place. "Oh fuck yeah! We are going to have a blast here." Laura said. "I knew you would like this place." Anti replied. They made their way through people, playing with them, letting them run and think they got away before appearing behind them. Laura was having a blast. Anti was having just as much fun if not more. By the time the last person was slain they were both covered in blood and exhausted from the chase. Laura jumped into Anti's arms hugging him. "That was awesome. Take us home now." Anti glitched them home. They appeared in the living room, Laura's arm's still wrapped around Anti. They were both giggling like children until they heard a voice from behind them. "What have you two been up to?" Laura let go of Anti and spun around to find Wilford standing there. "You startled me." Laura said breathless. "I am so sorry my dear." Wilford said taking a step closer to Laura. Anti instinctively stood in front of her as if he was shielding her from Wilford. "No worries and to answer your question we were out having some fun. A little walk in the park." Laura said with a wink towards Anti causing him to giggle. "I can see that." Wilford said as he reached out to touch Laura's hair. Anti grabbed his wrist. "I am pretty sure she asked you NOT to do that." Wilford pulled his hand away. "My apologies darling." Laura smiled kindly. "I need to go clean up before I start dinner. If you will both excuse me." Laura said. "Of course dear." Wilford answered. "I will meet you in the kitchen when you are done. I am helping you cook tonight remember." Anti said. "I didn't forget." Laura headed upstairs. She could feel Wilford's eyes on her as she went. She was trying her hardest to make this work but there was something about him that was just so unnerving. Once Laura was showered she joined Anti in the kitchen. He was chopping veggies for her. She walked over to him placing her hand on his back to check out his work. "Those are excellent. Good job." Laura praised him. Anti seemed to glow with pride. Laura started preparing the rest of the meal. Dark came home just as Laura was plating the food. "Perfect timing." Laura said as she ran up to him wrapping her arms around his neck. She kissed him quickly. "Can you do me a favor and go see if Wilford will be joining us tonight please?" Laura asked Dark. "Alright." Dark walked into the hallway. "Anti, is Die coming for dinner?" Laura asked. "No, he said we can eat without him." Anti yelled from the dining room. Laura made three plates but left the fourth one on the table just in case. She placed Anti's plate in front of him. Just then they heard yelling. Dark's voice echoed through the house. It was so deep and bassy it was if it was vibrating the walls. Laura covered her ears with her hands and Anti wrapped his arms around her protectively. When the sound stopped Laura let go of her ears and Anti let go of Laura. They both stood up and turned to see Dark standing in the doorway. Laura saw a mixture of sadness and anger in his eyes. Laura went to him. "What the fuck was that all about? Is everything all right?" She asked. "No it is not but it will be." Dark answered. Laura was confused but didn't press the matter. She assumed Wilford was not joining them after that exchange so she took Dark's plate as well as her own. The three sat and ate while Laura and Anti told Dark about their adventure in the park. It was kind of nice to just have the two of them to herself like in the beginning. Laura thought to herself. Laura was able to lighten the mood like always and even got Dark to laugh a couple of times. He had told her how much he loved the way she told stories of what happened to her. After dinner they all went to sit in the living room. They continued chatting and laughing. Dark even had some quips about work that he told. Laura was shocked. He never talked about what he did at work. She figured he was trying to keep her as far away from that as possible. After a while Die joined them and the four chatted by the fire enjoying each other's company. It wasn't until Wilford entered the room that the mood immediately changed. Laura felt kind of bad for Wilford. It has to be hard to walk in a room and feel the mood shift the way it did. "Good evening Wilford. We missed you at dinner. Would you like to join us?" Laura offered. "No thank you darling. I just needed to borrow Dark for a bit." He responded. Laura looked at Dark with some concern. Dark pulled Laura close to him and kissed her on the forehead. "Stay with Anti and Die. I will be back shortly." Laura touched his face and kissed his lips gently. "I will be here when you're done." She smiled kindly at Wilford. Dark got up and left with Wilford. Laura turned to look at Anti. The worry in her eyes broke his heart. He glitched to her side and wrapped his arm around her. Die looked confused. Anti explained what happened at dinner. They all sat in silence waiting for something to happen. No yelling came, no pounding came, nothing just silence. When Dark finally returned he looked sad. Laura knew better than to ask any questions. She hoped that if he needed to talk he would. She jumped off the couch and ran into his arms. Dark hugged her tight. "Come on, let's go to bed." Laura said. She turned to Anti and Die. "Night guys. See you tomorrow." "Night." They both responded. With their arms still wrapped around each other, Laura led them upstairs. They changed and went to bed with no words. Dark held Laura close to him all night. In the morning he was still holding tightly to her as he slept. She didn't want to disturb him so she just lay there watching him sleep. Memorizing every curve of his face, counting every breath. He was absolutely gorgeous. When Dark finally woke and found her staring at him, he just simply smiled at her. "Good morning princess." "Morning love." Dark pulled Laura on top of him. "I love waking up to your smiling face every morning." Dark said as he kissed her lips. "Good because my smiling face isn't going anywhere." Laura giggled and kissed him back. They laid there making out for a long while until Laura finally lifted herself up. "I know you have to go, I also know that you will stay in this bed all day with me if I keep you pinned here." Dark sneered. "Pinned? Really?" "Yup. Don't you know how strong I am?" Laura snickered. Without a word Dark flipped them over on the bed. "Who has who pinned now?" Laura wrapped her legs around his back holding him to her. "Still me." Dark let out a chuckle. "You are right though. I do need to go." Laura let go of him and gave him one last kiss. "I know. Go. I will be here when you get back." Dark stood up and snapped his fingers changing his close into his suit. He went to leave but stopped. "Come here." Dark held out his hand to Laura. She climbed out of the bed and went to him. He encircled her in his arms one more time. "I love you. Laura sighed happily against his neck. "I love you too." Dark let her go and with that he was gone. Laura sat on the edge of the bed, still all warm and fuzzy from Dark's embrace. She made her way down stairs to find the house was quiet. That is odd. Laura made her way to the kitchen to make some coffee. I wonder if Wilford is here? Does he drink coffee? Laura made her way down the long hallway and stopped at Wilford's door. She raised her hand to knock but froze when she thought she heard a scream. Laura waited and listened to see if she could hear it again. It was quiet. Her rational brain was telling her to run. However her irrational brain lifted her hand and knocked on the door. Wilford opened the door. He looked surprised to see her standing there. He took a quick glance behind him and then stepped out into the hallway closing the door behind him. Laura took a step back as he exited. "Good morning. Sorry to bother you but I made coffee and was wondering if you would like to join me?" Laura asked with a shaky voice. Wilford eyed her suspiciously. "I was in the middle of something but I guess I can take a minute to sit with you." He followed Laura to the kitchen. She poured them both a cup and sat down. "I just wanted to clear the air and talk to you about a few things." Laura started. "First I want to apologize for the tension that has been in the house since you arrived. I know that it is my fault and I feel badly about that. I know the guys were worried about your reaction to me being here which in turn made me worried about your reaction to me being here. So that is caused a lot of the tension. I was worried about how to act around you. I can come across a little strong at times and they guys were concerned that you would not take to my personality as well as they did. I have been nothing but polite since we met, I have tried to include you in all that we do and even though you have been very kind from the start I still get the feeling that you are not happy with me being here. That is why I wanted to talk to you. I don't plan on going anywhere and this is your home, so I am hoping there is something we can do in order to live together peacefully. Is there anything I can do to make things easier? Is there something I have done to upset you?" Wilford stared at Laura for a long while without saying anything. He had this odd smile spread across his face. "You are a mysterious creature. I have to give you credit for even approaching me with this conversation. No darling, everything is under control. Don't you worry your pretty little head about it now. If there is anything I need from you I will let you know." Wilford stood up. "Thank you kindly for the coffee." He walked away and disappeared down the hall. But you didn't even drink your coffee. Laura thought to herself as she dumped the coffee down the sink. Laura made herself breakfast and then changed for the gym. She worked out harder than usually trying to shake the strange conversation with Wilford. There was something off about him no matter how nice he seemed to be on the surface there was something sinister laying just below. When Laura was done working out she went upstairs to shower. Laura took a longer then usually shower seeing as Anti was nowhere to be seen and so they obviously were going out to play today. So, Laura lingered in the hot shower letting the steam fill the room and the warm water wash away all her tension. She finally decided to get out before she shriveled up like a prune. Laura was dressed in comfy sweats and was brushing her hair while humming to herself in front of the mirror of the vanity when Wilford appeared behind her. "You know, now that I think of it there is something you can do for me." He whispered in her ear before covering her mouth with something. The world went black.
