Fear

Satoko stood in the crowd, her light brown eyes looking at the stage in disappointment. Next to her was Shiro, looking more worried than anything. As she looked around, she saw a lot of people looking just as confused as him, or even shocked was a better word. As if they couldn't believe there was another White Walls meeting. Like they were expecting this girl to give up. She didn't though, much to Satoko's dismay. Much to the dismay of everyone that cared about Ayase.

She stood on stage. It felt so wrong. She was on the same spot where Hiroji usually stood. Satoko frowned. She couldn't believe she was seeing her there. She was prepared for Naoki the entire time, just to see someone they tried to protect from the gang life to be there.

Next to her was Teruo. Her right hand. It looked like he took Naoki's place now. He kept giving Ayase worried glances, but it was quite noticeable that no matter how the boy stood that he was fucked up by Naoki's death just like everyone else. Even though he was standing as tall as ever, there was just something about him that looked different. More... Emotional.

And taking Teruo's place was Benjiro. He got the worst glances out of them all. The most common comment was that he didn't deserve his spot. And others were that he got it only because he fucked the leader's daughter. With such angry faces looking at the stage, it was surprising Ayase hadn't already given up.

"We don't want you as our leader!" A yell was heard.

Ayase made a bit of a sad face. That was the Ayase she knew better. The fragile girl she loved was still there.

"I understand. But I promise I'll be a better leader than the man before me." She told them, her voice understanding, a bit pleading for their love.

Only true Hiroji's men were annoyed with this. The couple of men that just hated this girl. The ones who disliked the thought of a girl would lead this gang. Not to mention a girl this physically weak.

"Good luck trying, you little slut!" It was noticeable he was using the amazing nickname Hiroji used for her.

Teruo stepped forward, not letting them speak like that to her. Especially since the thing that happened... Anger boiled in him, he just wanted to bash the guy's skull in the ground.

"Tsukamoto-San, leave it be." Ayase stopped him.

Teruo stopped in his tracks. As much as he was angry, he didn't want to disobey her the first day of her leading. He wanted to be loyal to her, he wanted her to trust him. He could be there for her when no one else was. He'll protect her. He now had the possibility to do it, so he'll use it.

"I want to be a peaceful leader, so let's try-" She stopped talking as something hit her head.

She looked at the ground, noticing a rock and her blood on it. Her eye stung so bad. She could feel it swelling up, it was pounding hard. She couldn't see anything on her right eye. Why did they throw it? What did she do wrong?

"Stop it, guys! She's the last hope for this gang!" Benjiro tried to protect her.

But alas, he was hit in the head as well. It made a scar on the left side of his forehead, as blood started to spill out. Her eyes widened. He was just trying to help her. How could they do that?

Her head was pounding from the pain, her heart was beating and her rage was growing. These people are so disgusting. So horrible, they didn't even deserve to live. How could someone as nice as Naoki die, and someone as awful as them live? It wasn't fair. She felt anger that she didn't want, furious anger. It was hard to control.

She saw another rock hit Benjiro, for no reason. He fell on the ground, his head bleeding even more. Rage. That was enough. These people were vile. They didn't deserve kindness from Naoki or her. Or from anyone ever again.

"Kill them!" Ayase yelled, her voice cracking.

Teruo and her men looked at her in surprise. As if they didn't believe she actually said that. Their confusion made her more angry.

"Was I not clear!? I am your leader! Kill them!" She yelled, an odd voice coming out from her.

It was oddly intimidating. Somehow leaderly. Angry and passionate. They couldn't ignore her command. They caught him, waiting for her right hand to kill him.

Teruo stood still. For some odd reason, this felt wrong. Like he shouldn't do it. Like it'll ruin the innocence Ayase has. Even though he'll kill him, it felt as if though it was stripping her innocence away. Like she'll feel guilty later, and he'll be to blame because he didn't talk some sense into her.

"Tsukamoto-Kun, what are you waiting for?! Do it!" She yelled, something new in her eyes.

Spite and rage. He never seen her like this. Ayase was filled with negativity. He knew she was hurt. That man ruined her and Naoki's life... But she was his leader now.

He stepped to the man, resting a gun at his face. He shoot him, not feeling much sympathy. He was a dick to both Ayase and Benjiro. But he felt guilt for something else. Like he just changed Ayase just as much as Hiroji did.

The crowd was silent, looking at Ayase and fear and surprise. Her face had a bit of a surprised look as well, as if she just noticed what she did. As if she regretted it. Like she felt guilty. She took a deep breath and gave the crowd a cold glare, remaining her composure. She can't seem weak. It didn't work out. Naoki was never weak, neither should she. Even if she was, she had to hide it. That man was right. She couldn't lead this gang without violence. It was a gang. Screw her stupid agenda. It was obvious they had to be scared of her, and they will be.

"Anyone else has something to say? I'll be glad to grant the wishes of everyone who wants to join this man." Ayase said, her face serious.

She saw scared expressions. Good. That's just what she needed. They wouldn't listen otherwise.

"Go get Seto-Kun to the hospital." She demanded.

This time there was no hesitation. She liked it. She was taking control of her life, and nobody could stop her. The only thing that made her a bit guilty were Satoko and Teruo's disapproving faces. She turned away from them. They don't understand anyway. There was no other way to lead this gang. Fear was the only way.
