So much fear about a child being a demon through a very stressful nine months. But so much drama and worry for a child to turn out a hundred percent human, which surprised everyone, but mostly Satoko. Somehow she felt like this defied all logic or common sense, like a miracle truly did happen. Like her hope made this come true.
Shiro would always tell her that he told her so. That sometimes it was good to hope, that it made things come true. She didn't get annoyed about his constant yammering about being right, he was right and she knew it. She was too thankful to get mad at the red haired boy.
The child she gave birth to was almost too conveniently perfect. She didn't know how, but the small Yui took almost everything from her father. From the red eyes, to the pale clear skin and all the way to the fine white hair. The only thing she got from Satoko was her full lips. Yui looked so beautiful now that she was almost a year old, she wondered how'd she'd look in a couple of years. Each day she swore she looked prettier and prettier.
Satoko even noticed the girl learned quite fast, almost like her father. She was glad she had this child with him. Her looks were easy to mask, they could just blame it on albinism, just like Shiro did.
"I'm happy I gave this a chance." Satoko smiled, looking at the little kid play with her dolls.
"Hmmm? What was that?" Shiro grinned at her, liking the wording she used.
She sighed and rolled her eyes while she smiled. Of course he had to take the chance to make her admit he was right.
"I'm happy I gave this a chance." Satoko repeated, her voice now a bit louder.
"Which meaaaanss?" He cooed as he went very close to her face.
"You were right." She pushed his face away with her hand, laughing at him.
"Yes, yes I was." He repeated, somehow feeling oddly proud, as if he finally made one good decision in his whole life.
"Don't get too cocky. You know who's usually right." Satoko grinned, throwing a pillow at his grinning face.
"Aw, let me feel some glory, Satoko. I never get it." He moped, throwing himself on the couch.
She sat directly on him, making him flinch. She wasn't very heavy, she even lost weight, but the way she just threw herself on him hurt like hell. He lost his breath.
"Get your ass off me!" He yelled, hitting her with the pillow she hit him with just a few seconds ago.
"I'm paying you back, Whitey." She laughed at him as she got up.
"No fair, that was on accident..." He mumbled, getting up to a sitting position, just in case she decided to do it again, since it wasn't very below her.
Satoko went to play with their tiny child. She was quite motherly when she tried, often getting overprotective, even to his surprise. He would often call her Mama Bear, noticing her caring nature. But she always was a bit of an aggressive type, noticing how she was literally barking at anyone who dared to say something bad about Shiro or the child. Even though she insults him constantly, she won't let anyone else do it and gets so protective that she even beat someone up. He found it oddly amusing, it made him feel loved no matter how odd it was.
"I'm gonna teach her how to take care of herself. She'll be a master at karate and she'll kill anyone who goes on her path, destroying the obstacles." Satoko kissed Yui, saying it as if it was the cutest thing ever.
"Ah, she isn't even one yet." Shiro laughed at her big dreams.
"A young age doesn't exist in success." She said in determination, wanting her child to have the success she never could really have.
"Well, I'll try to read bedtime stories to her more often. Maybe she'll get interested in reading or something." Shiro thought about it, actually quite liking the thought of his child discussing books with him in the future.
He read her bedtime stories every other night, but maybe he should make it every night. He felt contempt after doing it, knowing Yui enjoyed it and fell asleep faster. She seemed like she enjoyed his voice a lot, giggling when he'd read something a bit louder or with a silly voice.
"Reading's lame." Satoko simply said, still focused on cuddling her little child as best as she could.
Shiro joined in, not quite amused.
"Jesus, you hog that kid like it's the only one you'll ever get." He sighed, wanting to have more bonding time with the little Yui.
Satoko being overprotective, she took it quite often.
"You're with it the whole time while I'm at work, Housewife." Another thing she'd often call him was the delightful nickname of 'Housewife'
"Ah, yeah, true, but I clean the house and make dinner and stuff, I'm not with Yui all the time." He whined, picking up the kid.
"Well, then make another kid." She said sarcastically.
"You know, I just could." He grinned, to which she got confused at.
"I was joking." Satoko answered.
"I wasn't." Was his simple answer.
She only smiled, liking how they made plans. She wanted another child actually. Why wouldn't they? He'd have to go away soon and his ideal family was always two kids. Why wouldn't she make his wishes come true? She wanted it just as much as him. And if the first child wasn't a demon, why would the second one be?
"Let's give it a chance, Whitey." She hugged him, giving him a passionate kiss.
